The Wave Kayak is a great kayak comes with a paddle, its for youth 130lbs, my friend bought one then I bought one ended up buying two, Great value easy to buy, internet purchase free delivery, pickup at the store of your choice.
I purchased this kayak for my grandson's birthday. He uses it on the lake and paddles alongside with his father who has a larger kayak. He loves it and it is easy for him to keep up with his dad. It is very stable and he always shows me how he can stand up on it. I was a little concerned when I read the review that the "seat platform" would flood from the "self bailing holes". My son-in-law's larger kayak also has "bailing" holes and he told me they are there to drain away water that can splash or come into the kayak seating area sometimes during use. It seems to work just that way, if any water splashes over or comes into the inside seat space, it drains away down through the holes. The only problem I found with the kayak is that my grandson and my granddaughter always fight over who gets to use it first. Now I know what to get my granddaughter for her birthday.
Great product and even better shipping rate and service... I think this shipped and delivered within days... Way to go, Wal-Mart!!!
Purchased for my 8 year old grandson's birthday. He loves it! He became proficient in about 30 minutes of tethered play. 6 year old sister was also a quick learner with some close instruction. Buying another for his younger sisters (4 & 6). Make sure you have appropriate PFD's and supervise use. We expect this to be a small lake/pond water toy with occasional use out in the surf. Please note company making these was recently (May) bought out and customer service was really not functional (late June) yet for questions/parts.
this is a fun seat-on kayak; I bought 2 for my kids, and they love it!!! Just for goofing around in water ONLY!!! Adult supervision required as always.
we gave this as a gift to an 8 year old for his birthday. he was so excited, he sees his big brother on his kayak and of course wanted his own. he has already had it out on the water and is enjoying it. it seems like a very well made product that he'll be able to use until he grows out of it!
This is more of a toy kayak than a kayak. It beats an inflatable raft, but if you have a kid who has used a real kayak, they probably won't be happy with this. Oh, and the rider will definitely get wet. There are two "self-bailing holes" in the front that eventually flood the seating platform. It is very stable though, and it tracks alright, not great but alright. So all in all it's good for goofing off at the lake, but not for doing any serious paddling.
