We bought this baby gate about a month ago for my first grandson. He's learning stairs and this gate helps keep him safe. Sturdy and quality materials. I Definitely recommend this product.
I bought 2 retractable gates for my preschool as a way to divide my space (we had to divide classrooms to accommodate the COVID licensing regulations of smaller group sizes). The gates are a great way to fulfill the licensing regulations but are removable for when the regulations revert back. The gates are easy to operate and look great!
This is a huge improvement over the baby gate we were using to keep our dogs from going down to the basement. The instructions looked a bit intimidating at first, but turned out to be fairly easy to follow.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this gate in my half bath since it doesn't have a door. It works great at keeping my kids out of my bathroom. I think this gate is great for a room that doesn't need accessed that often. The gate pulls tightly across, so there is no way a child could go over or under it. However, I would not use it for a dog because a dog could easily tear it up. A puppy could crawl under it because there is a gap between the floor and the gate. It is kind of difficult for me to get used to opening this gate. If I retract the gate too fast, it will get messed up at the bottom of the roll. If my hand stops for just a second while closing the gate, I have to start over because that locks the gate. I don't like that I need both hands to open it. If my hands are full I have to set everything down to open it. My five-year-old hasn't figured out how to open it yet. I think that there are too many steps for him to figure out. My husband installed it. It took him about 15 minutes without any issues. It includes two sets of wall mounts so that the gate can be moved in different spots easily.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this gate for our camper! I wanted to ensure our grandson and dogs would not be able to go up steps to bedroom. I am definitely impressed with the material. It seems to be strong and durable. The retractable is a plus too. It came with all the hardware and instructions to install. My favorite part is easy to clean material.
I use this at the bottom of my staircase and it works great. Even though this gate is for child use, I use it for my dog.
this gate is loud when you are opening the gate and securing it. not helpful when you hope to keep your children sleeping in the room next to the stairs.
If you need to open and close this gate frequently spend the extra money on a retract-a-gate. This product is cheaply made and extremely difficult to operate even with two hands. It's impossible to open or close while holding a baby. It is also not easily installed when you have molding on both sides of the gate. If you need a gate that will remain shut most of the time it will work ok but if you need to open and close it repeatedly like I do (I'm a daycare provider) save your money and time.
Horrible how do you send someone a used retractable gate during what the world is going thru and it cost 90.00 and you gave me a used gate. And would t refund me.
Got this gate as it seemed like a good retractable, yet stationary option. Puppy was able to go right under the gate, even with as low to the ground as it sits. The release knob is not ideal for all, elderly people or certain kids might have a hard time using the retractable release knob as intended. For this particular gate I would say it's overly priced for its class.
