Excellent wheelchair for transporting. Economical...sleek and lightweight. It comes already assembled.
I bought this for my elderly mother who has become very weak, frail and unsteady following her broken hip and hip surgery last year. She is about 5'2" and weighs around 100 lb. although it is rated for people who weigh more than that. It's worked out just great and it makes it much easier to take her places - such as out to eat, doctor appointments, shopping, etc. And it isn't too heavy for me to lift into the car by myself which was a problem with the wheelchair we were using before. I also appreciated that it came already assembled and the delivery was even faster than what I had expected. Since it is a transport chair, be aware that the person must be pushed, they can't wheel themselves with this type of chair but that works out just fine for our particular situation and needs.
We purchased this because it is light weight and thought it would be great to get my dad in and out of doctor appointments with little effort. The seat is only 14 inches wide which I didn't even think to check out!!! He is not a LARGE man just normal size so he was able to fit but barely. Also --- the chair was difficult to manuever in and out or thru doorway thresholds because both the front and back wheels are the same diameter. We returned and purchased another with a wider seat and larger back wheels.
