We spotted this wheelchair in use and noted the particulars to buy one of our own. Lightweight (19 lbs), very easy to put together from the box (only foot supports had to be 'installed'); and collapsible, this travel wheelchair has been a godsend. It's exactly what we'd been looking for. I believe there is a weight restriction - check the particulars - my partner is approx 150 lbs and it's a perfect fit.
My husband loves it
I love it, I used it many times for doctor visits etc...
My mom's chair is 35 lbs. I get tired putting it in & out of the car as we do errands. So, I thought a chair under 20 lbs would be good. I am just a little worried about the size of the seat at 16.75" it is a bit narrow. My next visit to see her is Mid-August. We will try the chair out then. I hope she fits. She weighs 126 lbs and wears a size 10-12. Like I said, I just hope she fits in it. The product needed minimal assembly and arrived in excellent condition.
This is a very lightweight chair that would be used to transport your elderly to and from the doctor, or if you are going on a trip and your elderly can't do al the walking. I didn't buy it to be used and abused every day! It's VERY affordable to do the job it's intended for. My elderly weighs about 100 lbs. If you are very heavy, I am not sure how the chair will hold up, but its so light weight (great for storing) and so simple to use that for little use it's great. This is NOT a heavy duty wheelchair and the price reflects that. Heavy duty chairs will run you triple what this one costs. So be realistic about your needs and you will be satisfied. I could see my mom using this by herself to roll around her house when her legs won't work so well. :) I weigh 140 lbs. and I sat in it and felt very secure and the chair rolled very smoothly and easily. One downside is that it doesn't "lock" closed, so perhaps a bungee cord would be helpful...
Chair folds up nicely and is very lightweight. I'm a small person so I can lift this chair repeatedly in and out of the car when taking my mom shopping and to appointments. The downside is that the left footrest weld has broken and now we have no footrest on that side. The right footrest does not stay in the upward position when you fold it up. I expected for the price we paid that this would hold up much longer. Our previous transport chair lasted over eight years, it's a little heavier but it was obviously built better than this and was half the cost of this chair.
When I tested this chair going over a hump backwards, I accidentally fell over backwards and both handles broke off cleanly between the latch and the handle tube. To prevent this from happening, lean forward when going over a hump backward, so that not all of your weight is on the rear wheels.
Have the atc19 bl wheel chair less than 6 months and seat guide has broken. See on other reviews this is a common part to break. Only has a 60 day warranty and part is $32 for probably a 50cent plastic part. Not designed to hold up at all. Very disappointed
I bought this transport chair for my mom who is about 250lbs. Therefore, I was delighted to find a transport chair that came in a 19 inch seat and that was also lightweight. However, after only a couple of uses the back seat glide and the front seat glide broke. The are made of plastic and easily breaks. I would suggest metal glides instead. Very disappointed!!!! Unfortunately, I was not able to return.
