My Mom age 96 cannot use rollators with hand breaks due to Left Side Neglect suffered from a stroke. However, she can hold on to the handles and it enables her to walk. This is my 2nd one. The wheels after 9 years were leaving black marks on my floor. It was almost as cheap to buy a new one then buy 6 wheels.

I got this for my mom because she likes to take walks and needs support with a walker. I like the push down brake because it is easy for her to stop when she needs to. Her hands get sore and it is hard for her to use a walker that has the squeeeze brakes. The color is listed as blue, but the walker is really dark blue with black trim. I like that because everyone has either a solid blue or red walker where she lives and the two color mix of this model makes hers stand out-she knows it is hers when she sees it. She loves it and that makes me happy.

This is just what we wanted. No bother with cables getting in your way. The unit is very easy to handle. The unit is safe and easy to use. It is also so much quieter that the regular rollator she had. Easy push down brakes. whenever she wants to stop all she has to do is push down on the back portion of the unit. When she sits down now she knows that she is not going to go anywhere. When it is time to walk all you do is stand up and you are on your way. Walmart also had this unit at a good price and fast and easy pick up from the store. We couldn't be happier with the decision to buy this product. Thank you drive medical.

I purchased this for my 88 year old mother as a replacement for her generic walker. I needed to find a easy-to-maneuver walker with a back-up seat for her to get around her apartment. This walker is very sturdy and well-constructed. Specifically, I needed to get a self-braking walker since most rollator walkers have hand-brakes, which my mother would never know how to use and would result in a fall. This walker simply requires downward pressure, which will lock the front wheels, if she gets unstable. It is a very important feature along with the six rubber-wheel design. Its well made, however, the paint is already-chipped but that is not a reason not to buy this well-designed walker. It is very stury and relatively easy to turn. I wish it were a little lighter in weight but works well and it folds up for storage. It has a storage compartment under the sturdy seat but wish it came with a basket/cup holder as that would be most convenient for her. Still searching for the right accessory unit for that purpose as DRIVE makes many different types of walkers.

Sturdy, but too hard to use the push brake

I bought this for my elder sister who has difficulty walking. I thought this was a great walker concept. But the push brake is too tough to apply. The spring is so stiff that even I have to put my entire body weight on the handles for the brakes to work. My sister was afraid of using it as the walker rolls away when she holds it. The brakes don't engage. The spring is so stiff. I tried looking for a lighter spring to replace, but it requires lot of dis-assembly. At the end, I used two rubber balls and put a big hole, and inserted them over the rubber mold. Now the walker has continuous brakes engaged all the time with the wheels lifted up slightly up. This gave her a confidence and is now able to walk even in rough terrain with confidence. The wheels are big and easy to roll. She uses it every day for both indoor and outdoor walking. I bought extra pair of balls and put holes in them, in case they wear out soon. If I am able to redo the design of this product, I would make the springs lighter and put a bigger brake pad or provide adjustable brakes on the rim of the wheels that are always engaged and give a secure feeling for the weak who have difficulty walking. Also, the folding is bit tough. I wish there were two latches, one to hold the seat in place and another to hold the walker legs together once it is folded. Currently it easily unfolds when we try to lift it.

I purchased this for my mother. She is 92 years old. The concept of this is great because you don't have to deal with brake lines; however, we had to go with the ones with brakes because she was not strong enough to stop the rollator and we were concerned about a possible accident.

The idea with the push down braking action is good, but the spring tension is too stiff. If the spring tension was adjustable, it would be great.

I am 34 and disabled. I needed a new walker for longer outings when my cane is not enough to help me. PROS: - Moves with little effort. The wheels glide nicely even over rocks and dirt. I can actually walk faster with it and stay on my feet longer. - I love the seat and under storage compartment. I was able to take my 4yr old son to an outdoor event and pack our snacks and sweaters in there. It really makes me feel like I have more freedom with it since I don't have to try and carry everything, and I can sit when I need to. - Sleek design. It's slim and doesn't feel bulky at all. CONS: - Although the push-down brakes work well, it seems it would have made sense to also add a brake to the wheels that could be kicked up/down like on a stroller. A couple of times when I let go of it to look at something, it started to roll away from me. Manufacturer should realize that not all disabled people need to hang on constantly. - I'm 4'11" so my legs are not very long and yet I seem to kick the wheels when I pick up momentum. If it were just a few inches wider it would make a difference. - doesn't fold up well. It's not that big of a deal since it's a sleek design and once it's in the car it can be pressed down tighter, but getting it to collapse and stay in place while lifting it doesn't work too well. This is a minor issue, just a little irritating. Overall I'm very happy with it. I didn't choose from the others because the majority have hand brakes which I am not able to use. I don't plan on using this everyday so the savings was worth the minor issues. If you need something for daily use, you may want to spend a little more for the extra conveniences.
