Every plastic cap seems to fall off repeatedly and winds up left behind in a parking lot somewhere. They should fit tighter. Also, the arm pads with the plastic trim are asking for a short life because of how the chair has to be grabbed when opening, loading and unloading. Most frustrating is this: my Everest & Jennings chair was the chair provided by my previous insurance. When I had to switch over to Medicare I had to give up the E&J. I could get several feet out off each push in that chair - even with a severe back injury and torn ligaments in my right shoulder. The Drive chair is like pushing through sand. It was a battle to get my supplier to swap out the first chair Drive chair they provided (it was like a shopping cart that wanted to pull left). By the time I got them to exchange it and break in the second Drive, there was no way my insurance to pay for another chair. I digress...
I have had this chair for 6 months. The plastic caps fell off in the first hour I had it. The seat sags and there's no way to tighten it. There's nothing below to help support the sagging seat in the front and because of my body shape, my center of gravity is more toward the front. So, I get sores and hip pain, because the seat is not flat. The frame below the edges of the seat causes bruising on the back of the calves. The bearings crunch and make the chair hard to push and have a loud grinding noise. I'll have to replace the bearings. The chair is heavier and wider than the Invacare Tracer IV wheelchair I used before. I don't need a heavier and wider chair. I'm a pretty active large person and like to go out. This chair hinders that, but I can't afford another one. Truly a waste of $450.
this chair cannot handle 400 lbs. let alone 700 Lbs
