This is the best Compact travel camera i have ever used. The features of this camera are endless. Its got a beautiful Zeiss lens,30x optical zoom, Exmor R CMos Sensor, wifi, NFC, Geo Tagging, Built in EVF (which is one of the best I have ever seen), 180 tiltable Lcd,,High quality videos, customisable control ring, and a popup flash..and lots more features.. Buttons can be customised. There is a guide or help button on the camera which is so handy. I know people always talk about low light performance, well although its true the ISO setting goes to 12,800 for stills but who uses that ISO level anyways.. U could use the reflective flash :-) as the flash is not fixed.. or use the aperture priority and you wont be disappointed.. and yes it only takes JPEG.. Let me tell you this JPEG VS RAW, although raw takes in more light , i was unable to find much difference between the two formats . Unless one uses Lightroom6 to enhance the effects (one can make a few changes to jpegs too).Secondly, one stores more pictures on a sd card in JPEG format than RAW. So for me , i am happy and give this product from Sony 5/5 .. Keep up the good work guys and of course, ITS A SONY .. :-) .
I bought this for our trip to the Capital Reef National Park in Utah
Camera meets my requirements for a compact, high zoom, wide angle travel camera which is ideal to have in my bag on a day to day basis. I love everything about it except I find the screen very hard to see when I'm outdoors. I have adjusted the setting to the brightest but still find it is not as good as at least one competitor. I would like to see Sony improve that for future releases. I would also like to see the on/off button in a more user friendly position. Saying that though, I am happy that I purchased this camera.
I bought this a few month's ago and took it already on many trips . It's my “ always by me camera” it's in my purse ! I take it with me on my bicycle tours or motorbike tours ! Just a fantastic tiny product ! Highly recommend this one !
What a great little Camera. It does everything so well, except, if you buy the "genuine" accessory case, remove the raised strip that contacts the bottom of the display panel at the back. Too much pressure is applied here and the sensor for the panel can think its open and displays upside down. Remove the sealed in strip and problem solved. It took a couple day for things to return to normal, no issue since. Sorry, had to put this here, the accessory review wouldn't allow an update.
I bought my first Sony HX90V camera over two years ago. It started malfunctioning when it was almost a year old and Sony replaced it. I was recently on vacation and accidentally dropped it. I immediately ordered another one as I couldn't be without this camera on my trip. It takes awesome photos and I use it 99% of the time and my "big" camera 1% of the time. It's easy to take anywhere without xtra lenses, etc. I would highly recommend this camera.
Main use is for the odd airport or plane that I see in my travels (Sales Rep), as well as some general landscapes and the happy snap. Love the pop up viewfinder - perfect for bright sunshine shoots. Level indicate cuts down on the editing, and the wireless transfer is easy to do and great addition. Had it 3 weeks, taken 200+ shots, no complaints.
Bought this before the holidays, tried it during our recent roadtrip, i'd say it's an excellent Compact camera. It's a perfect camera for those who are not really into professional photography, but loves taking pictures. 2 of the features i really like are the flip screen and the 30x digital zoom. Tried it during the Hopman Cup, I was able to take really good close up, action shots. Selfies wouldn't be more of a trial and error anymore because of the flip screen, however I wish the 3sec timer could be changed. Also the timer beeps could be a bit distracting when sneaking/taking selfies in quiet places. Overall, it's an excellent camera, especially for those who loves selfies, and making vlogs. Highly recommended.
This camera is very simple to use & takes excellent pictures. Great zoom to clearly capture far-away subjects
When I'm out on my bike, I will not always have my Sony a7s and 70-200mm lens on me... For obvious reasons. But this little Dynamo is always on hand when I'm riding down at the beach, out in the bush or wherever to capture a shot of whales, kangaroos, birds etc. and with the evf I don't have to worry about spotting my subject in bright sunlight. The selfie style monitor has also come in handy for those selfie shots with the Kangaroos down on Lucky Bay. Brilliant! Yes the controls are small, but to get the features on such a compact camera, of course they will be small.
