Great motor! Has a 2.3mm knurled shaft however which is a bit weird. Had to drill out a traxxas 17t a little bit to get one that fits. Happy with the speed in my old RC18T running on 2s. I have a 3S capable ESC but I don't know if I'll try that lol.
the motors great once you put a good battery instead of the 7.2 add a bigger battery and you will see a difference the only thing is the brushed motor will ware out within a year but if you want a sick rc car this motor is pretty impressive i mean every body bashing on it isnt putting effort in upgrading it to reach the speeds you want it to reach im pleased with it
I have had my ecx ruckus 1;18 for over 4 years, it has over 100 hours on it and I have driven it everywhere from roads to lakes (literally) and the only things Ive blown are a servo and the bushings I think that these trucks are a great choice for a beginner or intermediate rc
This motor does what it's designed to do and does it well. Although it won't get your vehicle up to a screaming top speed, it is reliable and runs steadily. After owning the ECX Torment 1/18 since September 2014, the connection from the bullet plugs to the motor broke, so I soldered it back on. The connection from the ESC to the motor now seems spotty at best. Since there aren't many more details, here are the pros and cons: Pros: -Reliable -Does what it's designed to do -Fair speed for a brushed motor Cons: -Occasionally overheats -A bit expensive for what it is.

I bought 3 ESC Ruckus 1:18 monster trucks for my daughters and nephew for Christmas. The only one that hasn't had an ecs or motor failure is the nephews which only has about an hour of runtime. My daughters have had the ecs fail on one car after about 2 hours runtime and the brushes fell out of the motor on my other daughters car at an hour and forty minutes total runtime on the car. Of course the runs were all 15-20 minutes, on mostly smooth surfaces, motor gap checked, non consecutive, and allowed to cool in front of fan and they still failed. I am selling these cars and looking for something that is more reliable and not so disposable. Entry level had gotten too expensive.
