This motor is a piece of witchcraft. 7 minutes of extreme thrust on a tiny 450 mAh! I put it on a small scratchbuilt long range wing with a 30" symmetrical airfoil wingspan and a 1300 2s, and it handled it perfectly with extreme flight times!
Replacement for Viking 280. Really only needed the prop shaft, but that's not offered separately, so had to spend more $$ than I wanted to. (C'mon Horizon!) Fairly easy to swap out the old motor for the new one. Tested & looks good to go, but haven't had a chance to fly her yet. Not sure why the old prop shaft got bent(?) I flew ~at least a dozen times before with no issues, then had one less than perfect landing (blame it on the wind!) and noticed a vibration at speed after that. Love this little plane, so had to fix her up!
Gee, I have to agree with the other reviewer, I only need the shaft, and ya cant get it. You have to buy the the whole thing. I gave it a 2 for quality because the aluminum is to soft. Any minor nose over will bend it, and the only way you can replace that part is to buy a new motor ??? I also love the viking, and have flown it almost daily for a year now. Enjoying every minute. But one day I nosed her over, and after that it had a vibration due to a bent prop shaft. Is there any way us Viking lovers can buy a replacement prop shaft only ?
Are these lemons? I have had two stop working in flite which leaves much room for destroying your plane unless you are experienced enough to land without power. Very disappointed that I have burned out two of these in such little time. I have all stock parts, battery is to spec. Nothing is binding or catching. I don't get it.
