Portable and convenient set up
This backstop is perfect for young aspiring pitchers. It is easy to set up, light-weight, but plenty sturdy. And it costs about half of what we found in sporting good stores! Bravo, Easton!
Price, quality, functionality....all excellent
First, the poles fall down if you don't install the rubber stoppers on the back. Operator error. Second, I have a 10 and a 12 year old and they both use it and it has never tore. I hate to doubt people, but sounds like they got a lemon. As for tearing twice, doubt it. Third as for how easy/hard it is to break down...there's definitely a knack to it. Grab two corners and twist. Once you figure it out, it's easy. But...the fact that you haven't figured it out doesn't mean it's Easton's fault. I like the net. My only complaint would be how cheap the case is. The net is only convenient if you can fold it up, carry it and/or put it away. If the case tears, then what?
The Pop Up design is what makes this product great. Quick set up and take down make it a must for youth coaches who need a backstop, batting tee station, or soft toss station!
Product is generally as advertised -- pops up easily, and offers a good pitching target with a catch bag so one can easily discern how many balls were in the strike zone. Folds down to a flat cylindrical shape that is easy to carry. A disappointing quality of construction however. The strike zone target fastens to the edges of the backstop with four nylon hooks attached with sewn on elastic bands. The very first time a pitched ball hit a corner of the strike zone target, the stitches affixing the nylon hook popped, leaving that corner to flap. The nylon carrying bag that the target folds down is also poorly made with a low quality zipper and insufficient stitching. Our carrying bag started to tear along the zipper seam after only it's third use. Easton has a great design, and for the price this is a good value, but they need to use heavier materials in the construction to withstand baseball use and normal handling.
I bought one of these and used it about a dozen times. Loved it so much that I decided to buy another. When I got the second one the frame kinked up on me the second time I tried folding it up to store it. So I took it back to the store and they exchanged it no problem at all. So I'm using the third one and about the 5th time I tried to fold it up the frame got kinked again. This time it kinked so bad that I had to actually crease it to make it fit into the trunk of my car (the first one at least twisted in half and I could fit it in the back of my van...I didn't have that luxury this time). I will have to take this one back, again, and hope for better results. My original net is still kicking strong after about 3 dozen uses. It still folds up without a problem, so I know I'm not causing the kinks in the spring on my own as I can fold up one of my nets without a problem and the other two I was working with were just a pain (I even take care to fold them slowly so that they don't kink, but these things just tended to wanting to go the wrong way). As for the durability of these nets I'll give them an A+. I so far have been using them as soccer goals (with plans to use them for baseball when that season comes around) and they are standing up very well to 7 and 9 year old kids kicking the balls into the net and stomping into the net to get the ball with cleats on their feet. Every now and then one of the poles will pop out of the rubber stopper and need to be reset, but that's not a huge issue to me. I think the tapered ends of the poles could be a tad bit longer and that problem would be solved all together.
The net was great and easy to fold up. But, I was was very disappointed when my son told me the poles "rubber band" snapped and the end came off, making the pole useless! Where can replacement poles be purchased?
The insert for the bottom poles that is needed to reach full assembly height came off in the bag and is lost. Not able to find replacement parts online
Poles are broken. It was used a handful of times. Before the poles broke it was good product. Where can I get replacements?
