I just purchased 8 panels of the 84" of these curtains because our living room and family room have cathedral ceilings and with the recent cold snap it was ridiculously cold in there. I have found the room to be quite comfortable now--at least 4-5 degrees warmer and that is a huge difference ina house. My only caution is the ones I purchased had difference color lots of the liner--one white the other pale, pale pink. Luckily I got 4 pale pink and 4 white so one set of 4 for the family room and the other for the living room. As for the room darkening--they do a very good job--for those not 100% pleased with the light seepage--the issue is the rods you are using--two suggestions: use curtain pins/hooks and put on a traverse rod that has an overlap (which will eliminate and light seeping through the center panel opening.) And if your issue is light seepage around window frame/edges, you need a rod that has an elbow on both sides to allow the curtain to seal right against the wall. I just have them on a standard rod with brackets and they block light very well. These curtains have a wonderful heavy weight to them and they look nice--I never used curtains much because I have cats and the cats would always put pulls in the curtains--there is no way they can do that with this fabric weight so these are going to last. It was a $120 investment (4 $8 rods, 8 $11 panels) to do both rooms but I believe it was well worth it.
I bought these for my sliding glass door which is takes up the entire wall. I bought them in brown and maroon and I loved them and though it was fine just as it was I thought a second set of brown would add a little more class and that it did. I love these curtains!!
These were ordered to help block out the cold, winter air. And.. they work great. I am so happy that Walmart carries them. I looked everywhere for price and quality... and found it at walmart. Thanks walmart. I was not as concerned about the light blockage, it was the thermal backing. Wrinkles came out, but I put a wet bath towel in the dryer with 1 panel at a time for 20 min... a little longer than the directions. Happy with purchase.
Love it. keeps the sun out!!!! Brings out my sofa!!! Great color!!! Perfect for my needs!!! thank you very much walmart for everything!!! Matches my rug I also brought from Walmart!!!!
I really like these panels alot, they keep the cold out. We have some windows that are drafty & bought these to put up in those rooms, they really do keep out the cold. They are well made, very good quality material. I ironed them without steam & hung them right up. No wrinkles. Look great, The burgundy is deep color, so keep that in mind. Its just what I wanted. Wish there were more colors I would get them for every room in the house. I have them in my living room & spare bedroom. Did away with the mini blinds. So far they are Super, I can really feel the difference, it has been very cold some evenings, no more drafts. These will pay for their self, I won't be turning up the heat so often. I love them.
I love these curtains! They block the light like they say. It's a great value to me, as I don't like light waking me up in the morning. They really don't look that great, as they haven't hung long enough to get the wrinkles out. They are not heavy at all, which is good. But they do what they say.
I really love these curtains. They matched the brown that was in my new bedding so it worked out well. Single rod curtain panels were so easy to put up and I added a white shear panel in the middle.
After installing the Eclipse curtain, I don't know how I put up with the outside light from my apartment's horizontal blinds for all these years. These curtains do indeed block out 'most' outside light and help set the mood for sleeping. Make sure you mount the curtain rod so it extends 3 or 4 inches past the top and sides of the window to help block extra light from leaking in. I got the 84" curtain which I have resting 2" form the floor. I'm using 2 curtains panels to cover the 58" window. The added bonus is the way they filter sound. I live next to a busy street. Now the sound of cars going by is not gone, but muffled and slightly quieter. Don't expect any curtain to eliminate all sounds. There are acoustic drapes designed for that. I like the chocolate brown color. It works well with the tan, beige and black color scheme in the room. The curtains are not heavy but not light and super thin either. The biggest issue is the creases from packaging. I've had some success using a upright clothing steamer though. Be prepared to do a lot of steaming. I used Walmart's Mainstays curtain rod which is working well. It has 3 mounting brackets so it won't sag in the middle. If you don't have a solid wall to screw the brackets onto, good luck getting it to hold with repeated use with just the enclosed screws. I wound up needing to get 1/8" X 2" toggle bolts at a hardware store for one bracket as it keep loosening due to the side-to-side force of opening and closing the curtain. The wall had nothing solid to screw into but the toggle bolts solved that. I know I'm not supposed to be drilling holes in the wall of the apartment but I will patch it when I move out.
so ya as the title gave away, i was looking for winter panel curtains in preparation for the chicago winter. of course i wanted them cheap but with good quality. after going to target and bedbathandbeyond stores 2x each and checking out their winter curtains, i told myself to check online before deciding to buy from one of them. i went to walmart online and the rest is history. i would say that they look elegant when we turn on our light at night. they block out the sun during daytime. our bedroom windows face the sun all the time. i did not iron it to remove the wrinkles, i just let it hang on the windows and the wrinkles were gone eventually. i have not wash it yet. the cold has not yet really creep in so i do not really know yet if this thing is sturdy for energy savings.
This product is a victim of bad quality control at the factory. As mentioned in another review, some of the panels don't block light like they should. They appear to be identical, but when you hang them over a bright window, the difference is clear. They all have the same UPC code, so the only way to tell is to take them home and try them out. I'm posting a picture of my four panels on a bright sunny day. As you can see, the middle left panel blocks WAY more light than the other 3. Very odd. Otherwise, the curtains are beautiful and are a great deal at $9 a panel when on sale.
