My daughter loved this! It has plenty of designs to keep your child busy.
Hello, I am a Social worker with a small hospice company who ordered this product for some of my more alert but physically disabled clients. They tend to become restless and anxious due to the confinement to their bed or home. This is an excellent fun brain exercise they can do from either bed or chair. It is perfect to build their confidence and reduce stress. I hope the clients and their caretakers will get as much amusement as we have at the office trying to copy patterns and coming up with our own unique interpretations of patterns. We have laughed heartily at our mistakes and praised each other accomplishments. I think this would be a wonderful toy for any child any age and the adults in their lives!
I am an occupational therapist who finds String Along to be good fine motor work for small children, and valuable in developing visual motor skill in older children who are able to recreate the pictures in string.
My very, very active four year old son who does not like to play much on his own, loves doing these cards. Once I showed him how to do it , he sat for 30-40 mins doing the cards. Both with my help when he wanted to do the exact pattern. But he enjoyed making his own pictures as well. I would highly recommend this, even my 15 year old daughter picked it up and started doing it when she was watching a movie.
I bought this toy for my 6 year old granddaughter. We used it together and broke the pen about 15 minutes in. I would love to get several more of the pens as they are not designed well and my granddaughter really loves this toy so she wants to continue using it. Please let me know how I can get more pens
I'm a school based physical therapist and love using this activity during therapy sessions. All ages of kids love it and it keeps them engaged. I would love to be able to get extra pens though! Some of the kids I work with have difficulty grading their muscle control and press too hard. I opened a brand new kit last week and 4-5 uses into it, a student pressed too hard and broke it! It should come with additional pens or at least the choice to buy extras.
The product permits any pattern, but comes with several durable cardboard sample patterns. The colorful, thick laces are very durable, too. There are many colors, and there are 2 of each color to permit longer patterns. The "punch pen" isn't intuitive to use. [...] I can't remember how it is supposed to work. I keep getting the pen caught on the thread and not knowing how to pull the thread out without undoing the stitch. But it's still possible to punch the thread through without stringing the punch pen.I would like to use this product for teaching strokes for writing Chinese characters (like ABC sampler cross stitch of old), but I'm still working on developing patterns.
Gave this to my daughter 2 days ago, and she absolutely loves playing with it. She is excited to test what new patterns she can replicate. But I noticed that the pen now has a crack in the middle and I'm afraid it might break soon. Toy will be useless then. Is there any way to get buy replacement before the tears start flowing?
I consider myself to be an intelligent person. The 16 word instructions (of that, 3 words were "the") is just wrong. It may be "Easy to Use" if your instructions were a little more in depth. I would love to rate this product but I haven't been able to figure out how to use it. Did you get feedback from the public before your packaging was completed? They probably would have told you to be more specific.
