This BBQ is the best compromise for me. I don't like dealing with briquets, and being disabled and living alone, I can't lift a propane tank, so this electric grill is the perfect solution. One of my specialties is ribs, and I make a lot of them at a time, and there is plenty of room on the grill for them all!
We love the new Grill. Its so much easier to grill outside with electricity rather than charcoal or gas. Cooked BBQ and Hobo dinners and they were great. Highly recommend.
This is a great grill for 2 to 4 people. It cooks just like a regular grill with the same great taste. Its easy to use and does the job.Just make sure you are on level ground for proper grilling with all the food to make sure it cooks evenly.I love it and would recommend it.
Product works well and meets state code for not cooking with an open flame or charcoal. Must time your cooking, if you lift the lid you need to add some time to the cooking.
This product is great for where it is not practical or is illegal to use a gas grill. It is much more like a gas bbq grill versus say a George Forman type product. Figure about 30-40 minutes to assemble - the instructions were actually reasonable. You only need a screwdriver and a pliers or adjustable wrench. One thing to note is that the base of this grill is not the same as the model 06601296 on CharBroil's website - there are no wheels. This isn't really a big problem because the grill is not very heavy and is easy to move regardless. The grill heats up fairly quickly and does a good job with everything I have thrown at it - steaks, burgers, chicken, fish, vegies. It has a temperature gauge which I've found helpful to time the cooking. One thing to note is that when you remove the top - the bottom is obviously quite hot so you need a fire resistant place to set it down. I went to home depot and bought a single 16x16 inch piece of tile for $1.50 and it works great sitting right next the grill. The Porcelain Cooking Grate is quite easy to clean. Overall, pleased with this grill.
So far so good. Only problem was the directions to assemble were confusing; poor diagrams, poorly written.
Cooks the food great and tastes great. I was so excited to use this grill on my patio, however, after one year the cord shorted out and melted the element piece attached to the grill. Char-Broil replaced. Second cord shorted out, melted and pulled part of the element out of the grill. Char-Broil says they are sorry but not in warranty. The cord is $45.99. I kept the cord unplugged when not in use and kept the caddie covered and tied. Clearly a design flaw. Glad no fire!
