Cadfael starred the great Derek Jacobi as a mystery-solving medieval monk. This disc collects three of the episodes from the series that was seen on American shores during PBS's Mystery! The episodes are titled "St. Peter's Fair," "The Devil's Novice," and "The Virgin in the Ice." The episodes are presented in their original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include audio commentary from Jacobi, a production scrapbook, and a biography of Ellis Peters, the author who created this memorable character. This is a fine disc from Acorn.
