Granted it's been a week of DAILY use - for plain rice AND other food uses. First use was for parboiled brown rice- 2 cup measure. I added a little extra water and it cooked perfectly in about 20 minutes- I did check and stir twice while cooking= great result. I used half the rice then added 1 can of peas and 1 can of carrots [ with liquids] and used the cooking cycle again to produce a watery soup mix. I added some butter and seasonings for a very tasty soup- nothing stuck to the uncoated aluminum cooking liner. Next I tried chicken broth- some butter and small macaroni shells- good results! It's not just a rice cooker! Adding a little extra water and a little butter is working for me to get perfect NON STICKING results. The warming cycle has automatically kicked in so it works- I left it on 1 hour to test= ok. PROS-so far all things have worked for me. CONS- the E Cuisine has NO off switch - YOU MUST UNPLUG FROM THE WALL to STOP the cooking process OR you will get burned-stuck on foods. SO monitor the cooking process and maybe add a bit of fat [ butter/oil] and occasionally stir as food thickens to avoid burned foods. The COOK cycle gets very hot after about 3 minutes and liquids begin to boil-- then it cooks hot for about 10 minutes and kicks to WARM. Harder BROWN rice will take more water and maybe 2 cook cycles [ with some stirring]. I'm VERY pleased as I only paid $11.75 [ 3-2018] so watch for frequent price changes on Walmart.com items! Frequent use will decide if the electronics keep working -- reviews on other sites are often negative but I think positive. PS- it says 6 cups = that is 3 dry cups with liquids to yield 6 COOKED cups. ;-)
I live in a household of only 2 people so this rice cooker is perfect for making smaller amounts of rice without having to spend over $100 for quality rice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always talked about having a rice cooker, and am happy to finally have one. My one and only time making rice was not pleasant. This little cooker, has been a game changer. I decided to go big when using this, and made myself some risotto. Wow! I have never been so happy. My risotto was so good. Tender and so flavorful. This is a must have!
this item is for one of my daughter in laws who doesn't know how to cook rice. rice is one of the hardest staples to cook but this rice cooker will give her perfect rice every time and wont keep her in the kitchen for a long period of time. Its durable the pot and cover are easy to wash and it doesn't take up a lot of space.
Works great. Makes 3 cups just like it says. Takes about 25 minutes. Left it on warm and it did turn the rice on the bottom a little brown. Other than that seems to work fine.
just what you need and nothing more. That's what I got and I am very happy with it. It is the second one I bought and I'm sure it will serve me well. Quick good and simple rice time after time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the Elite Cuisine 6 Cup Rice Cooker (ERC-003). Simple to use with only a cook and warm button. Cleans up easily. Makes a perfect pot of white rice in only 20 minutes. This appliance eliminates boil overs and messy stoves. Makes up to 6 cups at a time. Great little cooker!
I bought this rice cooker as it was small, perfect for two people. I have used it twice using the smallest amount of rice and water recommended, and both times the rice stuck to insert pan. I plan to try again using more rice. It seems that it runs too hot for the minimum recipe, which defeats the purpose for me.
Worked for a year. Put it in the dishwasher without a heated dry and it completely discolored and now has five holes. I thought the package said dishwasher safe.
The cooker stopped working in a week. I have to get it replaced now. Its better to go for some other brand.
