I use this machine for artisan breads only, the bread has a very hard crust. This machine has no trouble cutting even slices. I just love it. Recommend for artisan bread lovers.
I received slicer for christmas and have used it twice-I love it. I own a commercieal slicer which is much too heavy to take out and put away easily, so when i received this i wasn't so sure until i used it. It's a great little machine and is easy to pull apart and clean. I highly recommend this product.
Compact yet handles a fairly large piece of meat. I particularly like the thinness of the cut. It allows you to cut deli thin slices, perfect for sandwiches. Clean up is a little challenging. The sliding table and the support plate don't come off for east cleaning which I find to be undesirable. (small inconvenience though).
A friend of mine has one, and saw him use it and was sold on it, I bought one and used it to slice some tri-tip, and it worked awesome. Would definitely recommend this product for home use.
This product is exactly what we wanted. We always process our own deer meat and have never used a slicer before but this one did what we needed and was fantastic.
My wife had a slicer that cost over twice as much. It was a flimsy piece of junk. This one is sturdy and does an excellent job. She is happy with it
My first meat slicer purchase. I purchased this to primarily process deer meat. For the price, I'm am pleased with it's performance. The one thing that concers me the most is the slice thickness Guage. The Guage moves with the knob slightly, so if you was to adjust slice thickness, you have to turn know back to zero to be more accurate. Not sure if that's how it's suppose to function. I wish it was able to accept longer pieces of meat. Some of the parts are plastic, not a fan of plastic parts from past experiences with other appliances. But for the price it's adequate. It made it easier and faster to process my deer meat, so I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Sent some pictures of deer jerky I was able to process, this slicer was perfect for the job. I'm pleased with this product.
I would have like an option to pick either smooth or serrated blade. It came with serrated which is more for breads and I will be using mine mostly for meat. In hindsight, I think other brands would be easier to clean. The sliding holder for meat must be unscrewed to remove for cleaning. The screws behind the blade are in recessed areas that collect the shaved meat and are a little difficult to clean. It has to be placed on waxed paper to keep food off counter, because the area behind the blade which catches the food after slicing is very small. It slices easily, is not terribly loud, and small enough for my limited counter space. It's okay for the price but you may want to spend just a little more to get a more convenient one.
I opened the product and tested it and was pleasantly surprised. It does what it says. I sliced an apple at various sizes to test it. It is going to make great apple chips, potato chips, etc. Can't wait to try it on meat.
We purchased this item as an upgrade to an aging and inexpensive slicer. The slicer's design is very nice and easy to use. Clean up was a snap. However, I was slicing a London Broil that was more than 3/4's thawed and the slicer tended to rip the meat towards the end. The next time I use the slicer i will definitely make sure the meat is a little more on the frozen side.
