This product is amazing. It has a very strong peppermint scent its the real thing it is Mentha x peperita. I've used peppermint essential oils before none of them have been this refreshing or strong. I use an aromatherapy machine daily and I mix my own lotions and healthcare products so I went ahead and started using it right after I ran my essential oil test. I let just a few drops on a white piece of paper and let it dry. No ring, real essential oil. I put this in my diffuser and the smell was so great it could be smelled on the second floor. The mood was upbeat and uplifting real peppermint will do that to you. I used it when I had a migraine and it helped with the withdrawal of it, I placed some drops on my forehead. I used it my water solution when I mopped the house, that was amazing and the house smelled so good. I used it in my shampoo for scalp stimulation this is a particularly good brand because my hair grew twice as fast as it did with other peppermint oils I've used. I used it in my body lotion that I mix with organic shea butters. I used it in my organic natural toothpaste I make my husband really liked it said it tasted better than over the counter stuff. Again the smell is strong, real peppermint so not much is needed. It is 100 essential peppermint oil and I have no complaints if I had to request one thing of this product is that I would have preferred it be organic but other than that I was not disappointed and I would definitely get this again without hesitation. I'm sharing my pictures of the product and label because I know that's real important to those who are searching for real true essential oils and that's exactly what you look at when deciding whether to purchase.
This is not the first peppermint oil that I have tried but if I can get it when needed, it will be the last one I try. I love this smell and it last for a good amount of time. The usage is small, therefore it will last a lot longer. I don't have a problem with sticking to this product. I hope that it will be easy to obtain. Great Job
I have used peppermint oil for many years. It is great for repelling bugs and mosquitoes. Just rub onto exposed skin and it works to keep bugs off. Very good natural remedy. I put a few drops on a cotton ball and place it into the corners of my kitchen cupboards and drawers. It repels, but it also leaves a refreshing scent. I was skeptical when I heard it was good for headaches, but it does work. I rub a few drops into my forhead and on the back of my neck. It does lessen the pain. I don't have sinus problems, but my husband does and peppermint oil helps when a few drops are placed on a handkerchief and inhaled. He says it helps with congestion and also scratchy throat. Works great as a deterrent for insects in the garden. We sprinkle a few drops onto the soil around the plants. Try to keep it off the foliage or you will have peppermint tasting vegetables! We love this oil in our home and use it almost daily, especially in the summer.
So I'm not one to be all into homeopathic or natural type cures. But if someone tells me something works - I'll give it a shot. I read online that spiders do not like peppermint oil and someone told of their experience getting rid of spiders around their house with it. So I thought it might be worth a shot. Diluted with about 3 times as much water as peppermint oil in a simple spray bottle and went to town spraying up under the eaves on my house and garage. Ever since we bought the place, we've been plagued by giant barn spiders that LOVE to build large webs up under the large eaves on our home. I don't mind spiders in their own place, but just one too many times I've opened a door or window to find one staring back at me from too close. My husband wanted to know what in the world I was doing making the whole house "smell like a candy cane". Beautiful rich peppermint smell really pleasant, not burning. But even he became a believer since we've now past more than a month with no evidence of the spiders returning. Just look up on line all the uses for peppermint oil. I always add several drops (along with tea tree oil which is not quite such a pleasant fragrance) to my kids shampoo since it is a natural lice repel-ant. There are many other uses. This bottle is easy to open and not pungent burning - but strong enough to get the job done.
I love the peppermint oil!! It smells so fresh and clean! I have 2 dogs, so it helps with that odor as well as everyday musty smells.
The Homedics Arm-Eo 15pep, therapeutic grade essential Oil, Peppermint is amazing. Peppermint oil has so many uses for me. I think that this is a great grade of peppermint oil. It has a refreshing aroma that last and make the air smell so good. My favorite use for this Peppermint oil is for the mice they do not like the scent and its said to burn their eyes. So I soak cotton balls with the Peppermint oil and place them in closet under thing mice usually like to visit. At the same time I am giving my house an crisp fresh scent that my family enjoy. I also like to put a few drop of the peppermint oil into a pot of boiling water and that to give off a very nice aroma that make the house feel so cozy. And it just gives you a relaxing feeling like a calm just comes over everyone. On top of the relaxing feeling it has also been noted to help with memory. I use a few drop everyday somewhere in my home. Give it a try I don't think you would want to go without it, after trying it.
There are so many uses for Peppermint Oil! I used it in my Oil Diffuser at night while I slept. The smell is pleasant and I feel like my sinuses were clearer than usual when I first wake up. I then tried it in my pile diffuser necklace and found my sinuses felt clearer all day ! I have a deviated septum and my nose usually feels clogged all the time. I feel like my breathing was much clearer after diffusing Peppermint Oil. I then tried it as a spider deterent on my enclosed patio. I have a lot of plants and they attract spiders and gnats mostly. I put some of the Peppermint Oil on a cotton ball just to the side of each plant pot and I have not seen any of these pests in the last two weeks. I will continue to use this as I've never had two weeks pass without spotting some kind of plant pest. This is encouraging for me !
Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this product. I love the smell of peppermint. I'm going to sprinkle it on my plants in the house to set a refreshing smell in each room. I'll try some in the bedroom and the bathroom to make a refreshing atmosphere. Thank you again for the opportunity to review this product.
Ellia by HoMedics –Peppermint This essential oil is therapeutic grade, therefore you cannot ingest it or put it on your skin. It is meant ONLY for diffusers. Although, the box says to dilute it with a carrier oil, which would be like sweet almond, olive oil, coconut oil, etc. you don't really want to get a lot of this on your skin without the carrier oil due to the peppermint oil will give you a tingling or burning sensation. According to the packaging and label on the bottle, it is “100% pure therapeutic grade peppermint oil”. Also on the package it tell that it is made in India and bottled in the USA. The packaging is sort of “plain brown wrapper” type with a white and green label with a picture of a sprig of mint leaves on the front and a picture of the bottle on the side with ingredients, etc. listed in three different languages. It comes in a .5 fluid ounces (15 ml), which is a small brown glass bottle, but it will last quite a while as you only need a few drops in the diffuser. It has a pleasant minty smell to it and the scent lasts quite a while when used in a diffuser. I would only recommend this oil for a diffuser, but I would definitely recommend it.
I was initially impressed that the bottle was tinted dark brown to protect the potency of the essential oil and the bottle was a good size, but my good impressions stopped there. It took me three tries to get the bottle open, and I have strong hands. I read the outside of the box, which fortuitously indicated that this essential oil was for external use only, which was a disaappointment, as I was expecting to be able to use this essential oil internally for nausea and upset stomachs. Nonetheless, for external use only, the oil is of reasonable consistency so that it can be easily used with an air freshener designed for essential oils, with chakra bracelets made with lava stones or with a carrier oil on the skin. While I personally do not find the delivery of this essential oil as effective with a carrier oil, it did a good job on my headache and sinuses when applie with carrier oil to my temples. I did not find the Ellia peppermint essential oil to be significantly better or different from other therapeutic grade essental oils on the market, although the retail price for this volume (the test I received was 15ml, and you can get 20ml for $7) was very reasonable.
