fantastic price. The LCD screen looks awesome. even handles occasional basic games. CPU is a little bit sluggish, but gets the job done. fantastic as a secondary computer for the kids. nice little workhorse.
i always had an emachine it works great i have had no problems, instructions were easy to set up and the computer lets you know of any issue that needs to be addressed it is a good computer for a small price
I saw this product online first and couldn't believe that it would be good quality or include everything as stated online. I went to the store and saw it for myself. I loved the fact that the help line was here in the US and that I would have help if there were any problems 24/7. I bought the product and have used it for everything from online class homework, internet researching, photos, videos, and just regular papers without any problems. The only thing that seems to be a flaw in the make of the computer would be that when you open the DVD part, you can't reach the button to close it so you take the risk of closing the door with your hand and not pushing the button. Other than that the computer is wonderful.
I have to start by saying I find it laughable that people buy a entry level computer then complain or discount their ratings because it doesn't perform like the top of the line computers. Kind of like buying a Geo Metro then complaining because it won't keep up with a Corvette. Do a little research first, determine what you are going to be using your computer for then buy according to your needs. This computer is basic transportation with airconditioning. "Con's"- May be a little slow with some of the more recent software. Not easily upgadeable. The power light on the case is a little bright if at eye level. Having to make your own restore discs seemed a little out of the ordinary. And as with any off the shelf computer the embedded software is a little much. (by removing programs that you don't use or want you may gain a little speed, mostly those that start when you boot your machine. ie: Norton, Big Fix etc.) None of these I feel is worth getting rid of any stars for. I bought this computer for basic home computing and for use by my young son. I have owned other emachines in the past and also like AMD. For me windows XP was also a plus. Set up was very easy and should be able to be done by any novice. The compact size is a good fit for a childs size desk or if space is at a premium. The keyboard has a nice light touch and the volume controls at the top can come in handy if your speakers are out of arms reach. The monitor is larger than I expected from an entry level machine and is bright and clear with no dead pixels. Overall a great little machine that does what it's made to do and with the 19" widescreen monitor (the airconditioning) makes it good value for the money you lay out. If your looking for a basic computer that won't break the bank then this one should do the trick. On the other hand if your into modern gaming or heavy video or cad work your going to have to invest a little more and look elsewhere.
This is our fourth e Machine since 1997. We are very pleased with the system and would recommend it to anyone. It is a powerful "little" system used for everyday computing. The system has a quick response time with documents, picture editing, and videos!
First of all I would have to say I was very skeptical purchasing a Emachines desktop I've heard good things and bad things about the brand. But I just took a chance on this desktop. I have always bought Hp or Compaq brand desktops. I have owned this computer for a couple of weeks now its been faster than I expected it to be. Not to mention it has Windows Xp which I thought that was a plus not too crazy about Windows Vista. Its a quiet little machine you can barely hear it run. The LCD widescreen monitor is very clear with great color and awesome with no dead pixels. Its great to watch movies and music videos on. I think if you looking for a great value for basic computing this would be a great choice. The tower is compact and takes up very little space. Its a great little work horse for daily use.
I just bought this computer last night and I love it. The screen is so huge u gotta sit like 5 feet away to see it. I have it hooked up to cable/dls inernet and its very awesome very good deal i dont think you can buy a computer package for 400.00 and get a great deal like this! I would highly recommend this product I love it!
This E-Machine unit is sold as an entry level computer. No matter what it is called, it has the capability to do everything that I need to do. I primarily use the system to surf the net, send and receive e-mail, and play games on line. Excellent unit for the money and to this point, it has been very reliable.
bought this coumputer as an upgrade for an older machine. hooked it up and discovered it won't maintain an internet connection. connection failed twice while writing thi reveiw. contacted e machine support and after many emails was told it's my internet provider, but amazingly my old computer and my sons computers all work fine on this connection. haven't decided what to use this computer for, as it's too small for a boat anchor
ibought this machine and thought it was great had it for 3 weeks, then the power supply burnt out. emachines first told me to send the machine to them so i told them i just wanted to get a replacement power supply. that i would pay for it. can't find the power supply, except for 1 company. they are the only ones that make this item for the computer. was told it was still under warrenty and they would send me a replacement if i gave them a credit card number. so i agreed. then was told i had to send the whole machine in again. well i went and bought my new power supply(wasn't cheap.) this is the 2nd emachine that i have bought and the power supply burnt out in the first 3 weeks. never again will i buy a emachine.
