It took my husband about 1-hour to assemble this unit. We haven't fired it up, but it seems like it will be perfect in our patio area. I am a very happy gal.
My 14 y/o son built the firepit in under 30 minutes. We have not yet used it because it has been too hot. The only problem he noticed is the sag in the hinged door - about one quarter inch - you need to lift the door to shut it completely. I wanted this particular pit because of the great oriental styling. Other identical pits were selling for twice as much on other sites. This looks like it is worth what we paid for through Cymax. Eager to give it a try.
it is average. hoping to get 2 seasons out of it. these things rust very fast. I prepainted it to see if it would help prolong the rusting. haven't used it yet.
It's easy enough to put together. After it was all assembled the door doesn't sit evenly and the latch doesn't line up correctly. Doesn't seem very sturdy.
I got 1 season out of it before the bottom completely rusted out. What sm I supposed to do with an outdoor fireplace that has no bottom??? Going to call company to see about replacement.
When I got to the store to pick it up, the box was damaged. When we got it home and unpacked it, there was a HUGE dent in the front of the base(where the box was damaged). Since we had waited 3 weeks for it, we decided to just straighten out the dent as best we could and keep it. Then, as we were putting it together, hanging the door, the top hinge broke off at the weld (there was rust on the metal behind the weld, so it had not been welded properly). We returned it. It looked good, but was poorly constructed, especially for something that is supposed to be used outdoors.
