High levels of ZDDP for flat tappet 1970s engines.
Great oil for my small air cooled engines and for my car with a flat tappet cam.
Changing the oil on our motorcycles or cars is a time honored tradition in our family. My grandfather did it w my father, my father with me, and now I do the same with my children. Mobil has been there for us and the traditions are passed down.
I purchased a 1988 C 1500 ten years ago, the prior owners used Mobil 1 products when service came due. The engine has nearly 260K and runs like a new engine. I am meticulous about periodic maintenance on the truck, I put about 5000 miles a year on the truck and change the oil once a year, the oil has darkened but is still clean and very slick, not burned. I had to replace the fuel system due to a bad tank of gas about seven years ago. I had to take off the intake and took off the oil pan with the idea it would be a good time to clean it out with all those miles on it. To my surprise, the oil pan did not have any build up and looked new inside, I didn't have to clean it, I give the credit to the people at Mobil who have work hard and used their heads to make such a product and keep the company going, a personal thank you for your hard work and discipline
Mobil 1 Synthetic is the only oil I have ever used in my motorcycles. Being that the same oil lubricates not only the engine but the clutch and transmission also, this primo quality product gives me peace of mind. I've never had an engine, transmission, or clutch issue in any of my bikes that have exclusively run on this oil. 68,000 trouble free miles later, they run like new. The only thing that has worn out are the tires. I use it in my 2011 Ford Fusion also (in a different viscosity), and that engine has 131,000 on it, doesn't burn any detectable amount of oil, and doesn't even make it very dirty at the 10,000 mile change intervals I do. In this car the camshafts are visible through the oil filler cap and they have no visible deposits or sludge on them. Nothing. Well worth the extra money in my view. I don't see ever using another brand.
I have run Mobil 1 in all various vehicles in all the recommended viscosity for years and have found when taking valve covers off to work on lifters, pushrods, cams or inspecting piston walls, etc.. that it provides superior protection. Years ago I ran a conventional oil from a major brand. My brother and I had similar 84 Mustang 5.0's and upon removing intake manifolds I was started at the brown coking buildup on the internals compared to his that was absolutely clean. He was running Mobil 1 and immediately I switched to Mobil 1. That same vehicle I had the valve covers off after close to another 100,000 miles and they were still clean. My only issue is I bought these during a NAPA/Mobil 1 promo prepaid VISA card and after a month still waiting for the card?
Good stuff! I use it in everything: Ford 351W, Volvo 2.9L & John Deere D110.
I have been using Mobil 1 for more than 40 years. ........................................... .
Used in my 1996 Porsche 993 for 24 years. Believe it is one reason the car runs well.
The only oil I've used in my R1100RT motorcycle which now has 92,000 miles.
