Amazing got it for the Scanner going to UPS or FedEx to Send or Fax a gang of paper will cost you your first born and a kidney to send paperwork. No thank I recommend the printing function don't use this as a printer the Ink is ridiculously expensive.
So many features for such a great price! Even the cartridges that come with the machine seem to be full-size...unlike most other printers. Print quality is outstanding %26 SD slot is a big plus. One Con... Rear paper slot takes only 1 sheet at a time. The tray holds plenty of paper but I like to print greeting cards and I don't think card stock l;ikes to be turned...small problem.
I am very pleased with my new Epson 7100 printer. It is very easy to operate and the print quality is excellent. The feature I have used quite frequently during "Tax season" is the scanner. The scanning feature was easy to set up and even easier to use. I haven't had the opportunity to use the photo printing yet but expect it will work as well as the other features.
Epson has long been a staple in my home for many years and the Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One Printer does not disappoint. Despite a bit of a flimsy feel to it, the XP-7100 is quite remarkable. It is sleek and compact, it's small footprint design fits easily upon the desk without taking up too much space, and the auto-extending/retracting tray is a nice feature. Setup was super easy, took me all of 15 minutes from unboxing to printing, this includes initializing the ink and installing the software onto my machine. This printer found and joined my wifi nework quickly and effortlessly. The touch screen control panel is intuitive and responsive, and was easy to navigate. Print quality is excellent and speed is good, not the fastest but certainly adequate. The automatic document feeder works very well, as does two-sided printing. Although I have yet to replace the ink, a quick internet search shows replacement cartridges run roughly $48 for the multipack in standard capacity (as of 12/2018). The only real negative for me was the glossy finish as it is a fingerprint and dust magnet. Overall, it's easy to use and super compact with features found on higher-end printers. This is a review for the Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
The Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 AIO replaced a prior Epson Artisan 835 AIO. The XP-7100 has a smaller footprint with some upgraded capabilities. The two most important "adds" for us are: wireless printing (and scanning), and duplexing ADF scanning. All this while retaining Epson's famed print quality and the ability to print images on printable CD/DVDs. Set-up on multiple Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers was easy. Two from the included installation CD. A Surface Tablet that lacks a CD/DVD drive required downloading the installation from the Epson website. No big deal. We've had zero issues post-installation with either printing or scanning. (E.g., some other printers from multiple brands apparently "lose" the wireless connection.) We also wirelessly print from two Android Samsung Galaxy phones and an Apple iPad mini. Again no problems. Our Epson inkjet delivers on what we wanted. Epson strengths? Photo printing on Epson premium glossy photo paper looks great. No banding. Rich, saturated colors. Also prints exceptional B
There are a few plastic parts that I think could break easily. Also Epson setup instructions are extremely poor on unpacking. The second step is not at all well explained. Even videos leave people wondering and could cause unnecessary removal and perhaps a non functional machine.
I bought this printer two years ago or so, after my beloved WP-4830 dies after over a decade of service. Maybe my expectations were too high. I really put that one through its paces. While the XP-7100 has had adequate print quality for most of the time that I've owned it, it's already reaching the end of its useful life. I suspect that there's a leak in the black ink system because the other colors have become dull, in spite of weekly maintenance. The yellow is more of a gray now. It never did print any but the flimsiest of envelopes without black ink smears all over. And I really miss being able to print on heavy paper or cardstock. There are some good features: knock wood. I've never had the automatic document feeder jam, and I mentioned the good print quality. I've never had trouble with the scanner, either. It's probably a really good printer for people who just need the basics.
The price was good, setup wasn't all that difficult. After loading the software, programs specific to functions, drivers etc. from the CD, getting familiar with the format was a bit challenging but doable. The main problem why I gave such a poor rating is because it constanly requiring me to reload the drivers and would not print. After loading the drivers it would print one page and loose its mind. I even went to their support website and downloaded the drivers and updated everything from there and they did thier check and said OK fine. It still wouldn't print.
The XP-7100 is NOT a good printer. I am very frustrated with continuously having to clean the printer heads and still never getting good quality prints. I often get splotches of ink on the text or photo prints resulting in getting ink everywhere... on my hands and on other papers. I am trying to attach a typical illustration printed on regular high quality printer paper. It show unwanted vertical marks that cut across the horizontal color rectangles. It is rare that I get a print without such flaws. However, this review feature (attaching photo) on Epson's website does not work. Nothing with Epson seems to work.
entire printer works way too slow. trays barely hold any paper. back feeder only holds one piece of paper at a time. even with everything installed on pc, scanner kept requested download app on pc, which was already installed. to refill trays you have to completely remove the trays from printer, and tray 2 does not go back in smoothly. you constantly have to press commands on the touchscreen after every single function you do.
