I admire the size and functionality of this compact yet powerful unit. It is very suitable for mny different applications. The tape cartridges are very easy to handle and the selection is wide and varied. The led screen is easy to read and understand.
Without a doubt, this is the best, most fully-featured label printer I have ever owned! As indicated in previous reviews, there is a bit of a learning curve associated with using this product due to it's numerous features, but once you experiment with it for a while it becomes second nature. I especially like the numerous tapes available for the printer which makes it useful for many different applications. The barcode application is perfect for home inventory purposes, and the backlit display makes it very easy to use in low-light conditions. Whatever you need to organize, this little gem will fit the bill! The Epson LW-400 definitely rates a solid five stars for home and small business use. No other brand compares with its long list of features and choices of label styles, font styles and sizes, border options and symbols. The Epson LW-400 is a winner in every respect!
Great machine with a lot of options.. I used it a great deal the first month I had it and have most everything labled that I use all the time. I had not even thought about using it to identify cords, cables and power supplies for my computer equipment.. the flag lables work good to identify key rings too.
The printer is awesome. I have enjoyed playing with it as I learn the many, many things there are that can be done with this label maker. I love all the symbols and pictures that are available. I still haven't mastered all that there is to know about this label maker. I love almost everything about it. I find that the instruction sheet is a little difficult to figure out. It would be better in a booklet format. The lettering is too small. I have to use a magnifying glass to read it. Overall I'm very pleased with it.
The Label Works 400 Printer is simple to operate without needing to connect to computer. The limitations is the need for video to show the extra's that are not userfriendly to figure out on with and without the manual. Too many options too little information.
I am still learning and finding new features but I can say this is a deal even at double the price! There are so many options to font style, size, width and so on that no matter what the need you will find the solution in the LW-400. The backlight makes a huge difference while changing settings. Most awesome is the tape cartridges, loading and changing tapes is such a simple task it was actually a surprise. I would say you will never find a more versatile, well constructed label machine, you will want to label everything just to use this product.
The Epson LabelWorks LW-400 is a great little label maker and works as advertised. This is only the second label maker that I've every owned but, it works great labeling all the things (personal property) that my wife and I have on our Motor Home. It would be great if Epson lowered the price of the label cartridges, there at lease double the amount I paid for the labels I used in my old label maker. I would think you would sell a great deal more Label Makers if you lowered the price on your cartridges. I would definitely use it more if it wasn't so expensive to user.
Just like using a new cell phone for the 1st time there is a learning curve with using the LW-400. The people complaining about it being hard are the ones that haven't taken the time to get familiar with it. For the price it is one amazing little machine. Some cons: the screen doesn't display what the actually label will look like. It just displays the Icons, Text and how long the label will be. The manual is sparse. It is just a few pages long and explains things, but could have been much more helpful if it gave examples.
Complicated, confusing and unclear instructions make it very difficult to use the product. I'm sure it is very useful and versatile, but I've had several people read the instructions and just scratch their heads. Once I had it working, the cartidge jammed within a few days and it cannot be fixed. It must be replaced.
I have not had to "figure? this thing out . So far, I think it is WAY too complicated for such a simple task. I don't like the machine , and I don't like the labels it produces . Not what I expected . When I have more time , I may change my opinon - - - but I don't think so .
