I am so very pleased with this scanner. I am amazed at the quality this scanner gives to old photos that otherwise would have been lost because they have faded so much. Now my family will have those photos forever because this scanner saved them.
This is a great scanner. Just wish I had got one long before now. I had pictures that were over 75 years old and when they were scanned they looked great, better than the original. I had pictures that were dark and the scanned copy was perfect. I am so happy wit this purchase and would definitely recommend. One thing, I read the reviews before I purchased and so I made sure I followed their instructions and downloaded the software before I plugged the scanner into the computer. It worked without any problems from the first scan. I can't wait to order the one for the negatives as I have many old negatives.
This scanner exceeded my expectations considering the fairly low price point. Picture scans can go up to about 9600 dpi, which is perfect for when I am scanning artwork that I would like to print in a format larger than the original painting. Scans are crisp and the setup was fairly easy.
I am using this scanner to save my books in PDF format to my PC. About 3000 pages have been saved to PC with no problem. I am happy to have it.
Models V19 and V39 are same hardware. Model V19 costs a little less because it does not have software option for converting scanned page to text. I plan to use this to scan handwritten forms to PDF files, and sometimes scan an old color photo. I never the the universal machines that "print, fax, scan" all in one, because when one part breaks then you need to replace whole thing. Walmart has this online for ship-to-store, which is fine for me since I go to Walmart at least once a week anyway.
am enjoying the scanner very much, must go to epson website to download scanner in or for it to work, on the back one side was detached when i removed it from back, back it works very easy and fun.
I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to spend a lot of of time with tech support to get this to work with my IMac. Shouldnt be like that. In the end everything was resolved so I am happy. A sleek, simple and inexpensive bit of hardware. If you are looking for an economical scanner this would be a good purchase.
Chromebook and Linux users get screwed. It's not in the description of the product but the software needed DOES NOT support chromebook or Linux users!!! Only Windows/MAC uses, which BS. I wouldn't have bought this product if it listed what OS it supported. Will be returning and getting my money back.
I have a MacBook Air running OS 11.1. Downloaded and installed app / drivers. Connected USB. Clicked app icon for Epson Scan 2.app. Setting window opened. No settings listed.Tried same with Epson Scan2 Utility.app. Same result. Can't find a tech support number to call. Scanner not working for me. Not sure what to do!
I have no idea how this product works. I ordered the photo scanner to take on my trip with me so that I can keep working. I purchased because the shipping stated to be delivered by Friday 8pm the latest. It did not come. I had to leave on trip Saturday morning. Received notice that the scanner was delivered on Tuesday. I am still on my trip and the scanner will be sitting on my front porch for another three days. Not happy with this.
