If you use normal amount, it can make up to 12 hours and if you use extra then it becomes painful to come off from gums. Fixodent definitely is better but this is good if you want to go for cheaper one.
I have bought another, much more expenssive, denture adhesive for many years and was quite satisfied with the product. However, decided to give Equate's brand a try. I am so glad I did. At the end of the day prior to going to bed, I have to pry the denture to release it so I can clean it. This was not the case with the more expensive adhesive--often, by mid-afternoon, I'd have to be careful in what I ate because the denture would be loose because adhesive had worn off. Equate's Denture Adhesive "Complete Hold" costs 3/4 less than the other adhesive and works 3/4 better than the other one and it rarely "runs".. Highly recommended.
I have purchased both the Equate's firm hold and the complete hold to do a comparison of the products and " Complete hold " wins out by far. Why? Because when I used the firm adhesive, it tends to dissolve more quickly and requiring one to repeat the process too frequently. Other good things about this product is that there is no chemical aftertaste in one's mouth. Secondly, it is zinc free formula and thirdly, the cost is great. I have used 2 of the major brands- ( several formula's of each brand ) poly.... and fixa....., not mentioning the exact names. Neither of them compare in quality to this product.
I have used the Equate brand of denture adhesive for years now and have found it to be much more affordable and just as good (if not better) than the big brand names. Save at least half the cost of the big names. Equate products by Walmart have never disappointed...and always save money.
This is the best denture adhesive I've tried. It's not real gloppy, so that when you take out your teeth, there's not a blob of gunk stuck to your gums. It used to make me gag trying to get that gunk off. This stuff hold my teeth tight enough that I can eat corn on the cob. Just use a dab on either side.
so far i prefer this product over fixident or poligrip.it holds your dentures in tighter and i don't need to replace it 2 or 3 times a day like i need to do with the other products. i would definitely recommend this product.
Been using this for years.as good as if not better than fixodent .try it you might like it.
Recommendation:Use Equate Complete Hold on UPPERS while using Fixodent Plus Superior Hold (Scope flavor) on the LOWERS. Just to Note:Fixodent has discontinued/renamed Fixodent Plus Food Seal (Scope flavor) renaming it Fixodent Plus Gum Care now in a purple & silver box.
I gave this a 3 star because it seems to be thicker than it used to be and is really hard to squeeze out of tube. In fact, the bottom of the tube broke open on one of the tubes. Other than that I like the product
We have been looking for a store brand adhesive to compare to the "free" of the named brands that have no taste. Despite reviews, my husband says it is like the other brands that have flavor. It would be great if equate could sell a flavor free choice.
