My hair grew back thin after chemotherapy. A friend suggested this product and after a few weeks of use I noticed that my hair and nails looking better and growing quicker.
For years I had a subscription to a leading brand of unflavored collaged peptides, which I used as a way to add additional protein to my diet. I decided to look for a less expensive alternative and am glad that I gave this Equate product a try! It's a fraction of the cost! I was skeptical about trying a store brand, but the cost was low enough that I felt it was worthy of a chance. Each morning I mix two scoops of collagen peptides into my coffee, which I drink black, so appreciate that it is unflavored. All brands I've used create a little color (as if adding coffee creamer) when stirred in, which I wasn't expecting. This also happens with the Equate brand, but the color soon dissipates and the powder does not add flavor (as advertised). I've also added this product to juice (I use a mini-whisk or a fork to remove clumps/stir it in well) and smoothies. When I began using collagen peptides, both my hair dresser AND my nail tech noticed a change in the growth of my hair and nails (and it's made my nails stronger). If this is something you're hoping for, you need this product! If you are looking for an inexpensive collagen peptide product, Equate brand is worth trying!
I just bought this so can't speak as to the effectiveness but I can say it feels and tastes like the other name brands I've tried such as Vital Proteins and Orgain. It mixed really well into my hot coffee. Doesn't have an odd taste or smell. Pleasantly surprised with this brand and will be buying more since it's less expensive than other brands. I don't think it would blend well with cold drinks, the hot coffee melted and dissolves the powder.
I love using equate brand,because it is an excellent value
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to the Collagen Peptides brand. I like to add it to my cold brew coffee in the morning for addedd protein. I like that you can't taste it and it doesn't give the drink a weird texture. It also mixes in really well, probably better and less clumpy than Collagen Peptides.
Was really hoping for it to be like vital proteins!! I can't drink this 😫
I normally purchase the Vital Proteins Collagen so I anticipated that I would be able to dissolve this in my evening tea with no taste as usual. When I opened the container, I was suspicious because there was a fishy smell not normally present in my Vital Proteins. The taste was even worse than the smell! It made my drink smell like urine and the taste was so overpowering, it triggered my gag reflex. There's definitely a reason this stuff is $11 cheaper than the Vital Proteins… I will be exchanging to repurchase my normal collagen. I appreciate that Great Value tried here but this one needs to go back to the drawing board.
used in my coffee with half and half, after a few minutes started curtaling into a greasey film sticking to the sides of the cup. plus does have a smell and taste. very disappointed brand. will return.
The brand name version of this dissolves easily in coffee, but the equate will hardly mix at all. It sits in big clumps and you have to stir it for 5 minutes. Not worth it for the small saving.
I was not pleased with this product. It will not dissolve in liquids at all. My understanding was you could mix it with any liquid.
