I am very happy with the Equate SmileSonic Essential Clean Sonic Toothbrush. It works just as well as the more expensive 'name brands'. It has a two minute timer to let you know how long you should brush. It also lets you know when you should 'change quadrants' but I just ignore that and do my normal brushing routine. It comes with a USB charging cable so that you can charge it on your laptop or your power strip or whatever device you have for these things. I used the toothbrush right away when I got it and didn't read until later to charge it fully before use. It didn't do any harm but I guess I should have read the instructions first. It has a green blinking light to let you know it is recharging and when it is fully charged, the light will become a solid green. The toothbrush bristles will fade when it's time to change the head. It comes with one head, but I ordered a pack of three so that my husband can use this too. Each head comes with a vented plastic cap to protect your toothbrush.
This Equate Smile Sonic essential clean sonic toothbrush is just as good as the more expensive brands and the refill heads are a lot less also. I love that it is rechargeable and won't have to replace batteries. Mine was charged upon receiving but it recommends to fully charge the handle for sixteen hours before initial use and will last for two weeks with full charge using the micro USB port. You have to provide the USB adapter or charge on your laptop or computer etc. I used mine straight out of the box because I couldn't wait to try it. The power button is easily pushed and you can feel and hear a short pulse about every thirty seconds to alert you to change to a different section of your teeth. It alerts you every thirty seconds up to the two minute recommended brushing time and then shuts off after three more short pulses. This is a great idea so that you do get your two minutes of recommended brushing in each time. It leaves your teeth feeling extra clean, maybe not that fresh from the dentist cleaning but close. The bristles on the brush heads have a fading color and will fade in three months of use to indicate to you that it's time to change your brush head. This is a great way to remind you. It recommends removing your brush head to clean after each use and wiping dry the handle but I rinse under running water then give it a gentle shake and lay it on the sink with the head laying out over the sink bowl until it dries and then stand it back up. I think I would find it too time consuming to separate and clean twice a day?
I have had other rechargeable toothbrushes, and this Equate SmileSonic Essential Clean Sonic Toothbrush is just as good as a more expensive brand. Comes with 1 handle,1 brush head, and a USB charging cable. Has a 2-minute timer, a Recharge indicator, And a replace-me indicator on the brush head. And has a waterproof handle. Get a deeper clean than brushing with a manual toothbrush.
Wish I'd one of these as a kid! Cleaning is a breeze with Equate's SmileSonic. The few natural teeth I have left love the vigorous but gentle cleaning experience. When I get my implants, I'm pretty sure the SonicSmile will help me keep all healthy! Rechargeable and cordless for easier manipulation, is a plus.
When I saw the SmileSonic rechargeable toothbrush, I wondered what could possibly be new and different compared to any ordinary electric toothbrush. Answer—plenty. Starting with the operating speed. Toothbrushes operating on AA batteries work at a few hundred cycles per minute. Faster than you can brush manually, but OK. The SmileSonic operates at 31,000 cycles per minute. It makes a pleasant, high pitch hum as it does it. As a consequence, more working strokes to remove food particles and plaque. The bristles are finer and shaped to more precisely work at the gum line where disease can start. They are designed to break off when the removeable brush head needs to be replaced. The unit signals to let you know when you have brushed for two full minutes (just like your dentist says you should). There are several nice benefits to a rechargeable brush compared to battery operated units. In the long haul, you will probably save on replacement batteries. More important, the rechargeable unit maintains the full, original rate of speed, whereas battery units get slower and less effective as the battery runs down. Speaking of rechargeability, the SmileSonic comes with a USB cord that works with any common USB/wall plug. That means you don't have one more special purpose charger hanging around or getting lost. The unit itself is completely sealed, unlike common AA battery units that allow (how can I put this delicately?) slobber mixed with toothpaste to get into the unit to make an unsanitary mess. I am happy to recommend the SmileSonic rechargeable sonic toothbrush.
I really like the Equate Smilesonic toothbrush. It provides excellent speed to clean all teeth thoroughly. The biggest pros are : rechargeable and comes with a USB micro c cord, its lightweight and the handle is smooth to hold, getting replacement brush heads is easy, included is a brush head cover as well. The handle is a neutral color of black. The toothbrush has 30 second intervals and a 2 minute shut off.
The Equate Smilesonic toothbrush is really a terrific tool for oral health of your teeth and gums. I have been using a regular electric toothbrush for about 5 years. I researched sonic toothbrushes before getting the Equate Smilesonic and it's benefits are many ( better cleanings with your dental hygienist, better gum health, saving dental dollars). There is an additional, often overlooked benefit called "fluid dynamics". Because of the much higher rate of brush speed ( 30.000 brushes per minute as opposed to 2500-7500 brushes per minute for an electric toothbrush and 250 brushes per minute for a manual toothbrush) sonic toothbrushes agitate the fluids in your mouth ( water, toothpaste and saliva) turning them into cleaning agents that reach crevices that your brush can't access ( between your teeth and below the gum line). This is just what you need to have healthy teeth and gums! After using the Smilesonic, I wouldn't go back to other types of toothbrushes. This is the ultimate!
This sonic toothbrush has a buzzing sound as you brush your teeth. It will take a little getting used to for me, not only for the sound, but it turns itself off before I am finished brushing. At ten inches long, it is longer or taller than other battery powered brushes. It needs charging before first-time use, which the instructions state about sixteen hours, although mine took fewer than that. The charging cable is USB, so plug it into the computer or an electrical outlet designed specifically for this type of cable.
This toothbrush is easy to use, turn it on and the tooth brush vibrates rapidly to brush your teeth. It makes a buzzing sound and has an automatic shut off when the full brushing time has been reached. It is rechargeable with a USB charging cable, supplied in box. It cleaned my teeth brilliantly.
This toothbrush appears to work fine. However, I have two issues with it. One is relevant to the product and is the reason I detracted one star. The other issue is me, not the toothbrush. The reason I took away one star is that this is a USB device typically for use in the bathroom, but it does not come with a charger - it only comes with a USB cable. This may actually be okay for some people, but my USB charging stations are all in my living room, not my bathroom. This means that I would have to buy a charging block for the bathroom (I'm not going to have my toothbrush sitting in the living room charging). This is not really a show stopper, since charging blocks are cheap; hence only one star gone. The second issue is that I have sensitive teeth and I actually can't use this toothbrush. I can't even touch it to my teeth, let alone brush with it. This may just be me, so I did not detract anything for this issue and do not consider this a problem with the product. It seems to work fine, and I believe it is a good product. Unfortunately, I can't use it. The brush attachment only goes on the stem one way, so be careful orienting the brush when installing it on the handle. The brush also is not supposed to go all the way down - there's a little gap between the brush and the handle when it's fully seated.
