I have had this machine for almost 10 years now. The only problem I have had was my bobbin winder o-ring broke and I had to get it fixed. It took 10 minutes and the shop did it for free (this was after about 10 years of owning it). I am writing this review purely because i saw a negative review on this machine. My parents bought this for me as a Christmas present and I have sewed many things with it. Most quilts and baby blankets. This machine is a great beginner machine. I honestly don't know how someone was having problems with it. It is virtually maintenance free and it has the versatility to do many things. I would recommend this machine to anyone who wants a nice sewing machine that can do more than just the basics for a great price.
This Brother sewing machine is just wonderful! Makes easy work of all sewing projects. Will be making curtains soon.
I ordered this sewing machine on SAMs website. Free shipping and received it the day they said it would come. Love the machine and you can't beat the price of $99.99. For a computerized machine with 77 stitches programmed in it. Great for your everyday stuff. Great for a beginner too.
Light weight, love the freearm, Instructions clear and easily followed.
This machine made a travel bag with twill canvas. The bobbin never jammed. Easy to thread. Buttonholes were a breeze! Have had other sewing machines but this was the easiest to operate ever!!
This sewing machine was much more than I expected. I purchased this as a first time machine for my college daughter. When it came in, I tried to talk her into taking my older machine and letting me keep the Brother. Didn't work. I will have to order one for myself. I did not expect this much machine for the price I paid. I was very happy and so was she. Shipping was very reasonable and came in on the day promised.
I received the sewing machine in just a few days. Instructions were easy to follow. I believe it will sew well and will be perfect for my granddaughter
My mom bought this machine.for her but it sat unused and I barrowed it to make curtains and I am still making all kinds of stuff. I was impressed with how this machine sews. I didn't think I'd like bother brand for sewing I wanted a singer but I love my bother so much more . very easy to take care of. The only problem that I have s it comes unthreaded while sewing if I don't keep a long tails on the thread. With a long tail it happens not that often .
Love the machine, am a little confused over the pictures of the stitches that the machine will perform on the box versus what stitches we have been able to use. Seem to be limited to 4o stitch patterns, but the box and the manual show many more. I have sent 3 emails to Brother asking about this and have only received one answer and it wasn't remotely directed at the question. Still hoping for a reply and explanation.r
I bought this several years ago refurbished. Have been able to make a few baby quilts and some dresses and skirts and do basic alterations, repairs and hemming, curtains, pilllow cases etc. Have decided to upgrade because this machine cannot handle denim or thicker materials and I really want to make some heavier winter jackets and clothing. It's not a bad little machine to learn on and for the price, if you aren't working with denims or heavier fabrics, you'll probably enjoy this. It tends to whine and complain if you push it to sew through layers of fabric, and often the stitch length comes out uneven and many stitches will be skipped.
