This monitor is very quiet, no static at all. I bought it because of the 2-way feature. I can hit the talk button and talk to my son in his room. When he wakes up and calls for me I can tell him to come into my room. Or during naptime I can warn him to get quiet and lie down. I like being able to communicate with him.
I bought these before my second baby was born. I still use a monitor (safety first) in my toddlers room, so i needed something else, that wouldn't interfere with his...this one works great. there is no static (we have a big house) we haven't had any issues with it at all. it's very clear and i like the walkie talkie feature. I would HIGHLY recommend this to someone!
This product is very useful but picks up a lot of noise / interference. It would be nice if they could develop a product where the parent (with the receiver) can talk without pushing a button.
