I purchased this bag last year for my son who is in high school. It still looks great and he can use it again this year. No zippers to break.
This backpack is GREAT!!!! My grandson loves it, he started 6th grade this year and I am sure this will last him all the way through high school.
This is so far the best backpack I have ever owned. A friend liked my backpack and asked me to buy him one [he paid me back].
I needed a new diaper bag and most of them out there are REALLY expensive.. especially for something this size.. I wanted something big because I use cloth diapers and generally like to carry everything in one bag. I also wanted something that my husband wouldn't look weird carrying and he preferrs natural colors/tones. This is a perfect bag for us!! It's actually too big for our needs but it's light and easy to sling on your shoulder and still carry our 20 lb 7 month old! :) Only down fall is there is no pockets on the inside so I had to fill smaller bags with things that would wind up on the botton. Otherwise I LOVE THIS BAG!! OH AND FREE SHIPPING! Last thing.. I had something spill on this bag within the first week I had this and was out of town.. I didn't have the tags that came with it and never read how to clean it so I just threw it in the washer on the delicate cycle.. sure enough I took it out of the washer and found the tag inside that said not to wash it to just spot wash it!! oops.. it came out fine, in fact no problems! yayyy!!
I have not had this bag for very long, but hopefully it will live up to my expectations. I like that it has a drawstring as opposed to a zipper, which seem to frequently fail. The bag looks great and the canvas seems sturdy, my only complaint (more of a concern) is that the zippers on the smaller outer pouches seem a tad flimsy, but who knows, maybe they will last forever. Only time will tell. This is a pretty big bag though. I ride a bike and am fairly used to carrying around larger messenger bags and the like, but this one really does take the cake. It holds a lot and sits comfortably on the back and shoulders, but I could imagine that on a smaller person this bag may look a little silly (keep in mind I'm 6'2''). It does kind of collapse onto itself when it is filled with less items, so it doesn't look that big all the time. Great bag though, and hey, it's only 28 bucks. If you don't like it, just buy something else with all of the money you saved.
I got this for my daughter who started middle school. Her school does not use lockers and after carrying all the weight she went through 4 backpacks. Now that she is going into the 7th grade I am determined to get a backpack that will last her till high school. This one looks like it will fit the bill. The determining factor was when someone wrote that the main opening does not have a zipper. I was sold. My daughter loves it and so do I. It's a little big on her but she can put her lunch box and whatever else she needs in it.
quite large, seems very durable. doesnt use zippers for the main compartment which is nice as zippers can fail under heavier loads. Good look, good value, would recommend this bag
Way too large for my needs. Made well. Stitching looks sturdy. Didn't like Velcro flaps that cover zipped pockets on sides and fronts.
We've always purchased Eastpak backpacks at our local Walmart from the luggage section, large and sturdy. Sadly, we can't find them anymore. Searching for a replacement, this backpack's advertised measurements were comparable in height but measured roomier in the base, needed for entering high school. When I went to retrieve and order it from my favorites, the picture of the kahki backpack was removed but was still available, the order was placed. It is smaller than originally advertised, the cloth closure with drawstring at the top is a very small opening and doesn't look like it will last long. Overall, very disappointed, will not order on-line from Walmart.com again.
