We used this while wiring our boat trailer and it Was great. A handy little size and easy to keep track of. I would highly recommend this to family and friends. I would consider getting this as a gift or stocking stuffer For the guy on your list.
Out of all the circuit testers I've ever used this one is the best! It worked perfectly and liked the red and green like in the handle which made it easy to see.
This is a little gem so easy to use so light weight.Good design and it actually works my husband put it to the rest right outta the package he found where we had a break in our wire do t leg size fool you it works really well. And it is easy to use.
My husband is a mechanic so he uses top of the line circuit testers on a regular basis. This doesn't compare to what he uses for his job every day, but with that said this tester is a great basic circuit test light to use at home. It is small enough that it can be stored easily in a glove box or other small spaces. His favorite feature is the LED lights that change color. It turns green for ground or red for power. He doesn't have to look up wiring on a schematic to show him which is which. He said it would have been nice if the LED lights illuminated brighter than what it does. You can unscrew it and change the LED light if needed. It has a metal probe that is sharp and easy to pierce the wire. The clamp is strong and doesn't slip off. It is a little bulky for him to grasp on too compared to his other circuit testers, but it still fits comfortably in his hand. The cord is a about 4ft, but it still would have been better if it was a little longer.
You won't have to search for a little dot light on this tester. The tester's light is large and very bright, immediately turning either red or green. It seems to be very well made and sturdy. So easy to use, just remember to remove the rubber tip protector. The wires with the tester seem rigid and soldered well in place. Our last tester had wires that giggled within the tester which caused a short. There won't be any wires giggling with this EverStart tester. Well made and works great.
1st off I love that it fits conveniently in the glove box. It also works great for us checking our wall outlets. The light on it nice and bright and the cord is a pretty decent length also. Its wonderful for basic purposes. I would recommend this to friends and family.
This 6,12 and 24 V circuit tester, I found to be made very nicely it has a 4 foot long cord the ground clamp has a protector over it . there is a red light and a green light for negative and positive connection very easy to use and very handy to have, this product would be good for anybody to have in their house , garage or toolbox
Great circuit tester for 6v, 12v and 24v systems. Great for that car enthusiest that is working on the vintage car or the weekend mechanic checking out the electrical system on his daily driver or checking out the battery on the riding lawn mower to see if it is up to the task. Easy to use-just hook up the clip to a suitable ground .Locate wire to be tested-red for positive-green for negative and pierce cable and it will light up the red bulb if it is working. Tester is small and easy to handle plus small enough to carry in the car or along with you to the car shows. The tester has a metal probe for a long life. I used it on the battery to my riding lawn mower to see if it was charged up and working. Being a woman it is nice to have a tool I can use without having to ask for help.
Our daughter's car was acting weird and my husband used the EverStart 6:12V Circuit Tester to try and figure out the problem. His thoughts on the circuit tester: He found the packaging easy and convenient to open. The clip was protected and well shielded with a rubber covering to protect fingers from accidentally touching the exposed metal. The handle was ergonomically comfortable. There was an indented thumb rest and the end of the clear handle rested in the palm of his hand. The circumference of the handle was large enough for the LED light to be seen even while holding the handle. The clip was a nice size, stable, and small enough to be used just about anywhere. The cord was a suitable length and not cumbersome to handle, which was appreciated. The probe had a fine tip point (quite sharp, be careful so you don't accidentally stab yourself), which allowed for testing in tight areas. Instead of touching a wire, my husband used the tip in the back of the fuse and it worked well. The red and green lights nicely communicated which type of test was being conducted – positive polarity (red LED light) or negative polarity (green LED light). The indicator lights are bright enough to be read outside in direct light, which is very convenient, especially if you run into car problems while driving during the daytime. The EverStart Circuit Tester is definitely a tool we'll be keeping on hand.
I have a real old Circuit tester, made in USA and still works and uses a old standard incandescent automobile bulb, but it seems really beefy compared to this newer foreign made(China) made one here. Don't get me wrong this one works just fine, but I cant be roughing it around like I have done my older domestic made(USA) Circuit Tester. This one you just cant be throwing it around, will have to take care on how you handle it. Interesting they use a Red bulb, I would have preferred nice bright 5000kv white or Green LED bulb, go figure, but it does work and it comes with a nice piece of rubber tube that goes over the end so don't go poking unnecessary things like yourself, I know I have done it while grabbing my other older version without paying attention where I was grabbing it. So for the price its a real good buy.
