Literally, forgive the pun, but for less than 10 bucks, I didn't have high hopes. I am happy to have been proven wrong. It has the standard A5 Bujo parts: sturdy cover, bookmark (has 2), inside pocket, page numbers, index, elastic closure. I am a die hard inkjoy gel pen user and the paper in this notebook was the best part. Yes, it is cream, but to me that's easier on the eyes. The paper itself is heavyweight, smooth, and my inkjoys don't bleed. MINIMAL ghosting. And they only take a second to dry. Really, I counted "one mississippi" before it wouldn't smear, but I can deal with one second. What I can't deal with is crappy paper. I will be buying more of these journals. Great quality and you can't beat the price. Thanks Walmart.
This is my second bullet journal and I absolutely love it! The index and page numbers make it so easy to use. It doesn't matter to me that the pages are cream-colored, it reminds me of parchment paper. My favorite part is that this journal comes in bright, orchid purple! It is a color that leuchtturm 1917 does not offer. I wish that the different colors were offered separately online, I would buy so much more! I guess I'll just have to keep checking all the Walmart's near me to find more of these purple journals.
This is an amazing bullet journal. The pages are nice and thick and has minimal ghosting. I had the medium size hardcover last year and moved up to the A5 and I'm pleased that I did! The little bit of extra space doesn't seem like it would be a big deal but it really has been awesome. I'm pretty bad about abusing journals and the exceed from last year held up to me beating it up with the binding only cracking very minimally towards the end of the year. 10/10
Just picked this one up yesterday! Glad to see Walmart is hopping onto the bullet journaling train finally. This is my first time buying an A5 journal because I usually use a larger one from Michael's. Journal cover is sturdy, hardcover. Has a preprinted 6 page index, 2 page markers , band to help close the journal and one expandable pocket in the back.. I had to knock off one star because the pages are very yellowish. So if you like stark white pages, this will not make you happy. At all. It comes in plastic so you can't look at the pages prior to purchasing.
This is a great journal for work or personal use. I love the dotted pages, page markers and hard cover. None of my pens bled through the paper. The last one I bought held up a long time in my backpack so I bought another one! My only complaint is that it smells terrible when it is first unwrapped. Yuck! I hope the smell goes away soon
The new A5 Exceed dot grid notebooks are perfect for the brand new bullet journaler. I have been bullet journalling since 2016 and am comparing these to Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks (BuJo versions and regular A5 dotted). The Exceed dotted A5 heavyweight (I purchased the royal blue color), has amazing quality paper for the price and is well laid out with 5 index pages at the beginning, a blank page on the left and the first dotted page on the right. The binding is sewn with care and I love that the page number font seems twice as big as Leuchtturm's. Yes, the pages are creamy off-white (maybe even a slight shade of darker cream, but only noticeable side-by-side), but that is expected for this kind of quality paper and something that anyone used to more expensive notebooks will be fine with. What lost a star for me, was the size (as seen in photos). Exceed missed the mark if they were trying to get folks with to Leuchtturms, to switch; they are taller (1/3 in), wider (1/4 in) and thicker (1/8 in) than their competitors and thus do not look as tidy or match when lined up together. For many, this is extremely minor and may not bother them in the slightest, especially if they don't have previous journals they plan on storing this with. And despite that, there are still only 240 dotted pages and the extras width makes for nice margins. So it bugs me enough to remove a star but I haven't decided if it is going to be my BuJo next year or not.
