Have only had this product for about one week, so I can't really give a proper rating, however all indications point toward this being a good choice. It runs very smoothly and doesn't bog down with credit cards or several pieces of paper. At this point I am very pleased with the purchase.
outstanding shredder. Heavy duty and shreds the paper in nice small pieces for security. Expensive, but i believe this will be the last shredder i will ever need.
I just purchased the Powershred P-12C to replace another brand that had just died. From reading the reviews I was convinced that this machine would serve my purpose - normal junk mail, bills, and business booklets containing many names and addresses. It has proven to be very fast, handling up to 8 pieces with ease, and not exceptionally noisy. One of the cons I read in previous reviews indicated that the compartment holding the bin for shredded material was hard to replace after emptying and had to be pushed hard to put back in place. This did happen, but when I looked in the space where the bin was to go, I discovered quite a few pieces of shredded material and when I cleaned it out, the bin went in very easily. One con is the on/off/reverse lever - it is hard to push and frequently goes to the wrong setting. However, by using my "fingernail" it moves to the proper location. That lever could be made of different material.
I purchased the Fellowes P-12C Shredder because the one I had didn't have enough capacity! It jammed and would shut down after a few minutes of very light shredding! Each year I do a complete cleanup of my years long accumulation of material and shred it. I have to say the P-12C did a great job in one tenth the time it normally took and worked perfectly! I am a Happy Camper!
I am very pleased sith the paper shredder. It works great! and has some new features that I really like, i.e., window to view how much is in it and the slide-out basket. Great ideas.
Very pleased with the performance, looks, size and features of this shredder. Works great and absolutely love the locking switch since my grandson plays around the house and would love more than anything to shred something if he could!
Bought this because wife ruined light duty shredder. This one seems to be up to the task of destroying sensitive paper information. Still pull staples and paper clips, just cannot see running them through shredder, even though it says it is O.K. Too bad made in China, lots of people in U.S.A. need jobs.
My last shredder was a Fellowes and it lasted over 15 yrs. It just sat on top of a waste basket. The waste basket started to break down so I purchased this shredder. I have been very disapointed in the size of the crosscut, which I feel is rather large. I also do not like the basket that the shreds fall into, it is all concealed and very difficult to see when it is full. When it is full and you slide out the basket shreds of paper go every where.
I would not have purchased this item if I had known that a manual was not available. Seems like a poor reason? Well, I believe in having all and any information available for any equiptment purchased. Manuals usually include simple info about FAQ. Parts lists, simple repairs, etc. I am contimplating the return of this crosscut shredder on Monday.
This shredder is super loud. I have used plenty of shredders and most get quieter with technology; not this one. This one is super loud. It says it's a 12 page shredder ~ I think 12 pages is a bit much for it.
