Wal Mart Had The Best Price.
I've been using this type filter almost 3 months, and I've got to tell you that it's a great improvement over reusable filters that I was using. You can see all of the particles it collected...yes, it is DIRTY! I couldn't really see the dirt on the washable ones. I've noticed that there is less dust collecting in the house' big plus! Haven't noticed reduction of airflow nor higher energy bills. I'll continue using this filter...a little expensive to me- but we'll worth it!
These filters at MERV 12 have more pleats than those of a lesser MERV value and therefore last longer in your unit, in spite of filtering the air better. Any air pressure increase is minimal and not a concern. As a retired mechanical engineer with HVAC experience, I believe that MERV 12 gives the best combination of filtration, pressure drop, and filter life. I live in Texas and my units run nearly all year, so I replace my 4" wide filters every 6 to 8 months.
Excellent air filter. I buy these 20x20x1 sizes and tape them to a regular box fan for a quick, easy, and affordable air filtration unit that I can move around the house wherever/whenever I want. No need for any special high end unit that requires a unique filter that some company stops supporting.
Upon advice from my doctor to purchase a better a/c filter, I researched and purchased two of these. We quickly noticed a difference in the air quality, my headaches and sneezing are much better now. I am allergic to dust mites and my cats dander - I am extremely impressed. When I clean, there is far less dust accumulated on surfaces in my house which is lovely. After changing the filter recently we found out why - this filter is blocking everything. So great! We are considering investing in higher grades of the Filtrete brand because this one has done so well.
This is the only product I purchase for our furnace. I particularly like that it only requires changing once a year. When we changed ours for 2024 we discovered that it could have remained in place longer.
Fit perfectly and aided tremendously in the process of removing mold from my mothers home. The ones made specifically for Honeywell weren't cutting it.
I need a 18x20x1 1900 filter but Filtrete doesn't make one, settled for a 1500 but not satisfied. Found an Aerostar filter and an evaluating it, but would prefer Filterate for good quality control and honest rating assessment.
the item said 2 filters, which is what I paid for. I only received 1 filter. I contacted walmart, but never received the second filter.
I bought this filter at Walmart, Filtrete 20x25x4 "Allergen Reduction 1200", to use when I needed to replace my old filter. Several months later, when it was time to replace, I removed the filter from its sealed packaging, and I noticed that the ends of the filter paper pleats were not totally glued to the cardboard case surrounding them. There is a small gap at the side due to this, at about 25% of the perimeter of the filter media. Figuring that this was just a random issue, I called 3m to get a warranty replacement (the retail packaging clearly states "This 3m product will be free from defects..."). The 3m representative seemed skeptical, and asked me to send photos of the defect. I e-mailed 2 videos that clearly showed the defect. They responded that this filter is made exclusively for Walmart and Sams Club, and because of that, they will not honor the warranty. I no longer have the Walmart receipt, so I am out of luck. I will never again buy any product made by 3m. Th original Lennox brand filter that came with my furnace was very well made, and long lasting. Although the Lennox filter was more expensive than this 3m, it is now obvious that you get what you pay for. By the way, the Lennox filter is made in the U.S., where the 3m filter is made in Mexico.
