I live in an apt. that is full of dust. I dont use there filters they collect nothing. But when I use the clean living filter it is black when I change it.
I recently had a blower motor go bad on my AC unit. When the repair man pulled the motor out he commented on how clean the blades were, no dust build up. I change Filtrete Dust Reduction every 6 to eight weeks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is the finest filter we've ever used for our house. Our home was built in 1913 and as may be expected there are many sources of lint and dust which come with an older home. we also have pets and this filter has cut down on all of our "excess" dirt to a much more tolerable level during the Winter months with the furnace (forced-air) running here in Northern Ohio!
Higher rated filters would just clog with the dust - we reduced our filtration until the 600 ratings allowed a very good balance of dust capture and longevity of the filters.
I bought the Clean Living Air Filter at a local store for the first time and could not have been more pleased. The quality is so superior to the other brand I was using.....you changed my mind about filters...thank you.
We use to just buy the cheapest filters we could find, and those worked, or we thought they did, until we upgraded to Filtrete. What a difference in the dust settling in the home, and how the air actually felt inside. We're never going back to the other filters again. Filtrete has made our home even more homey and liveable in such a great way!
This air filter captures more dust and lint that any I have ever used. Good for 90 days but because we have a dog inside, I sometimes change more frequently, however I don't really have to.
During heating season, I need to replace this filter every month as any dust contamination at all will decrease airflow enough that my furnace overheats. I've had the furnace looked at to ensure it is operating properly, and it is. The tech's in each case have shown the problem to be the Filtrete pleated filters by replacing them with different brands. This incredibly short lifespan of these filters make them cost prohibitive.
