If you are looking for a safe to use at home, this is a good value and is great for personal documents and important items. I bought a similar safe years ago and bought this one recently.
I bought this as a christmas gift for my mom who wanted a smaller fire-safe safe. She was happy with the product and has already stored the items that she wants to keep out of harms way. I think for the price and size, it works exactly what we need it for.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Put all my personal papers that I had in my safety deposit box and more. The savings alone for the cost of the fireproof box vs the yearly cost of the safety deposit box was a no brainer. It is pretty heavy..so if someone was going to run off with it. they would probably drop it..and I liked the fact that you need a key to open it. Very good buy...
I was in need of a fire resistant storage unit for important papers and documents. This one filled all of my requirements and at a great price too. I'm very happy and would recommend this unit to anyone looking for inexpensive fireproof storage for important paperwork. It is not intended to be a secure unlockable safe.
I bought this model safe a couple of years ago. I didnt get it to prevent theft, I got it to keep my items safe. Well five weeks ago it proved its worth. We had a fire and everything inside was perfect, including silver coins and pictures. I didnt lock the safe and it was on a ground floor. I would definitely lock it if you cannot keep it on a basement floor. The house was a total loss and the safe held its own. I will definitely be getting the bigger version as soon a we rebuild. I bought it on a whim and now I am so glad I did.
Since I already have four of these in my home and office, it was very easy to decide what to buy when I needed another one. The safe is very easy to use, holds pendaflex folders with no problems, and will hopefully work as promised. Fortunately I've never had a chance to find out how well it works in fire but similar products from Sentry have worked for others so I would recommend this based on their experiences.
A very good purchase with excellent quality! I always wanted to have all my important files placed in a safe centralized location. This is an excellent alternative for a safe deposit box at a bank that can be very costly. I am completely satisfied with this product. I would also recommend you purchase the largest size you require This is one of those purchases that you will be glad you made!
Sentry is a brand name I once trusted. The day the product arrived, I opened the safe and the lid just fell off on my kitchen table (very heavy, by the way). The hinge was made of a very thin plastic that was broken on the safe I purchased. Incredibly disappointed in the low quality hinge. However, wal-mart was great about reimbursing me on a full refund for the item.
Don't waster you money. The hinge material is weak and the box lid will fall off. Read the other reviews.
