Had to remove old bracket and remount the new one included with this device, even though it looks the same. Though I was able to secure the new bracket without replacing the existing drywall anchors or screws. So the operation was quick. It was physically challenging to insert the included battery. I thought I was doing something wrong, but it does snap into place with a bit of force. Otherwise an easy installation process. Manufacture date was just 2 months ago. So, relatively fresh. This is important since the device chemistry expires in 10 years. Though, not exactly sure what happens to the effectiveness just after 10 years.
It took me a moment to figure out where to put the battery but other than that it was easy to use this to replace my former smoke detector. I was even able to attach this device to the same spot in ceiling as my last device (with existing screws). I'm so happy I can replace the battery in this one when it's time!! My last device didn't allow a replacement battery, I had to smash it with a hammer to silence it, and it has unnecessarily just became more plastic pollution for our earth.
I have purchased this product in the past. We had carbon monoxide in our house and the detector went off like it was supposed to and most likely saved our lives. My old ones are several years old and still work fine. I just thought it was time to replace them. So I decided to purchase the same ones. I have three of them throughout my house. I highly recommend.
Love this thing, although it's super sensitive, that could be a good thing. When my girlfriend is cooking I have to be ready to pop the battery out (she has a habit of burning dinner). The battery is easy to install as long as you can figure out round peg square hole and you are not a monkey. It's easy to mount on the wall. I will be replacing all mine with this one in my house.
I have these same ones in my house and they lasted 6.5 to 7 years. They don't make things like they used to. Last ones I had lasted 20 years. How they cost what they do I'm just not sure. Might want to find a better brand for durability but price is ok until you have to buy several.
It's a great service. We had an unexpected diagnosis and surgery for our beloved dog with all hands on deck. We were able to order human and dog supplies that were delivered to the front door while not leaving her bedside. An absolute godsend. Thank you.
Detects smoke **and** **CO** (Carbon Monoxide) which is (a) poisonous (b) odorless. Found a good selection of smoke detectors and quickly narrowed down to smoke CO detectors. Competitive price and fairly quick shipping. Overall, very satisfied. Solid four star rating.
Instructions are lacking valuable information. Unit came with a 9V battery and no snap connector leads to attach it to. Not only was the battery difficult to fit into the compartment, I had to find a video on Youtube to determine the correct orientation of battery to achieve proper function.
My order was arrived on time but when I opened the bag, it was surprised me that one detector package was completed opened and also missing battery , the other package was re tapped with Scott tape and who knows it is new one or used one but return by some one . So I ask for return one which was retapped .
First Alert smoke detector received in an opened package that was scotch taped shut. I did not inspect any further for what all was inside the package since it had been opened. Required to drive to the store and return. Done
