[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this about a month ago and finally got it installed. It was very easy to install the directions are easy to follow. I really like how it has both in one unit it really puts my mind at ease with my kids. The back up battery features was also a must have in our house. Overall this is an amazing product and the quality is great as well. You will not be disappointed with the first alert product. It was so fast and easy to replace I was able to replace the two in my house and within five minutes.

I'm sooo happy that I went with these ones! They are extremely easy to install. I did it myself and it only took me a few mintues to do. They look way nicer then the old ones did, they have a battery backup and not only can it detect smoke they also detect carbon Monoxide too! ...........................................................................................................
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been needing one of these smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for some time now since my previous one stopped functioning and I'm really impressed with this one so far I love that it has battery backup just for the Peace of mind and it was incredibly simple for me to install it seems very well built and does not feel cheaply made and you know this is one of those things you never think about untill you wish you would have so If your in the market for one of these I highly recommend you try this one trust me it's worth it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick and easy! These are super easy to install. I replaced very similar units already wired together, and replacement was easy. I did not feel a need to turn off the electricity; I just pulled the plug from the old ones, as the connecting plug is identical for both old and new. The only difference was the mounting ring; I had to unscrew two screws in the ceiling, twist the existing ring off, and put on the new one (after untwisting it from the new detector), then screwing it down. Then the detector itself twist-locks into the new ring. So far (about two weeks) we have had no false alarms. I plan on getting the 5 pack for the rest of the house and linking them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed this new detector to replace an old (over 10-year) hardwired combination unit and this did the trick. It only took a couple of minutes to swap out the pigtail connector and have the unit fully installed and tested. Easy to attach the bracket to the ceiling with the provided hardware. Tested the unit after install and all checked good. This unit was a little less expensive that the other brands on the shelf but it is one that I am familiar with. Love the 10-year sealed battery so few will not have to change the battery. Just replace in 10 years.

The detector was easy to install, the wiring is all setup and more importantly the battery life is supposed to be amazing. I am excited about the battery life as my current smoke detectors I have to change them every 6 months. The detector is well built, the materials looks sturdy and there are no filmsy materials. I will soon be replacing all my smoke detectors with this brand. I am tired of changing batteries every so often. The only thing I don't like about these detectors, is I can't paint over them.

The online ad for this smoke alarm indicated -- both in writing and with the pictures -- that this alarm came with three adapters to ensure the buyer's ability to install it easily without further purchases. It did not come with three adapters, just one, and it was not the one I needed. I returned the alarm and was issued a refund. I'm sure the alarm itself is good, but I needed the correct adapter -- which costs another $25 dollars bought separately.
