easy to use, long battery life
It was easy to install, but there is no way of knowing yet on efficacy. Maybe if someone burns Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow we'll see how it works.
It's a smoke detector. Since we haven't had a fire how the heck am I to rate it?
Haven't owned these long but i definitely can say these dont go off when i shower as my old ones did...The alarms have a ten year battery so thats a huge savings! Also these alarm sence fire or smoke which is a far more safe alarm then the ones i had which would go off if i made toast in toaster or go off bc i turned my convection ovens on which i am Extremely Pleased!
I like the loud sound as it would awaken me when napping or in the night in another room. It does, however, need to be replaced before 10 years. My last one started beeping constantly at a little over 8 years to let me know it needed to be replaced. I liked that.
Easy to install will be happy if they last 10 years.
Long lasting and I don't have to worry about changing batteries for the next 10 years. Just testing it every 3 months with a push a button works for me.
This smoke alarm was returned. The packaging shows a plain white alarm and the description doesn't mention anything different. After taking out of box you see it has the brand name and other wording very noticeable across the front in gray lettering. No one wants to see that in their home— what an eyesore! It may be okay in a garage but not your living areas.
Not sure if this is a genuine First Alert smoke alarm. Not working after activating the alarm upon taking it out of the box and pulling the activation tab. Called customer service to inquire. It does not seem to be the same quality at all as the prior First Alert smoke detector I owned at all. I would be very hesitant in purchasing this.
