The first time you try Fiskars PowerGear2 Hedge Shears, you'll be amazed - but it's not magic, it's gears. Fiskars patented gear technology multiplies your leverage to give you up to 3X more power on every cut. This means you can power through thick branches that traditional hedge shears would struggle to cut. It also means that Fiskars hedge shears can be smaller and lighter than other shears, reducing strain on your hands, wrists and muscles when you're reaching to cut a branch or have a lot of hedge shaping to do. In fact, these hedge shears make cutting so much easier they've earned the Arthritis Foundation's Ease of Use Commendation. Shop more Fiskars products

First let me say, I received these shears in exchange for an honest review. I am very excited to be able to try these shears out as I love Fiskars products. These shears are a wonderful addition to my Fiskars collection now. They come with a heavy duty plastic covering the blades for protection. Easy to handle, solid but not too heavy for the wrists. Cutting through the branches was like cutting through butter with a hot knife. I was able to whiz through my shrubs cutting in no time at all!
The old trimmers aren't what they used to be, so I was happy when these arrived. They measure at just under 2 feet long and are surprisingly light. They tear through a job though. These shears are extremely sharp and with little effort on my part, they chopped through branches quickly. I was impressed. The handles are hard, though. If these handles had finger grooves and a cushioned grip, I might help with the yard work more often.
I have bought from this company before and I am always impressed with their quality and high standards. This item was no exception the blades were sharp and easy to manipulate. The handles smooth and solid. You can tell it's one of those things that will last you for years.
I absolutely love the Fiskars PowerGear2 23 Hedge Shears. I love doing yard work and projects around the house and the PowerGear Hedge Shears make it so easy to cut hedges and small brush and tree limbs. My yard is a work in progress, but I have been able to cut and trim all the unnecessary twigs and outgrowth and help make my yard look so much better. The blades are extremely sharp and long in length and made of hardened steel. The handle is covered in a rubber material that is very soft and comfortable on the hands. The shears measure about 23 ½ “ long from end to end, and also open and close very smoothly. The power gears make it so easy to open and close and makes clipping easy and less strenuous with very little effort. The shears did come with a plastic reusable cover to keep safe when not in use. I was happy to learn that the Fiskars Hedge Shears come with a Full Lifetime Warranty. This warranty eases my mind, knowing they stand behind their product. My neighbors have already asked what brand shears I am using and have express interest in purchasing a pair for themselves.
These hedge shears are absolutely perfect for my hedges in the front and back of my property. They are large size, the catch a cut of almost a foot, which is impressive. The shears have a smooth cut feel to them, very easy to use and very handy. I love the soft grip handles that are very comfortable. They are not too heavy, which I was surprised about, as I was thinking since they are quite large they will also be heavy, but absolutely not the case here. They cut the hedges with ease , even thicker branches on my shrubs, these cut right through those. I really enjoy using these, they are so helpful, very essential if you have shrubs, and just simple and easy to use, also I'm a huge fan of anything Fiskars product wise, so that's a no brainer that I love these. These make my shrubs look perfect.
I am not very strong, upper body wise. Usually using hedge trimmers are cumbersome both in attempting to hold them, and use them. These hedges had a nice, quality weight feel, without being overly heavy. They maneuvered well and smoothly and allowed me to easily even up the bushes without feeling like I had a complete gym rotation. These seem like they will last through many uses and I look forward to feeling productive and successful being able to manage yard work on my own!
I was thrilled when these arrived - just in time for Spring yard cleanup. i needed shears that were long enough to reach over and behind my front hedge, to get the branches that were ripping up my window screens. I had no problem maneuvering with these, and never lost my grip. Needless to say, the blades are great- exactly what you'd expect from Fiskars, and one of the reasons I decided to give them a try in the first place. Only possible drawback is that you do need a bit of muscle to fully close them; it may be that they're just a little stiff yet. Still, yardwork is meant to be a workout, so I don't mind! Great quality, nicely balanced, and very comfortable to use. Good length on the blades too - long enough to reach, but not so much that they're getting away from you and cutting more than you intended.
These clippers are light weight which makes them so simple to use. They provide control when cutting fine branches yet are sturdy and strong enough to chop larger branches as well. I like that they open wide and have little bumpers making it easy and safe to get a good chop.
I have used Fiskars products for years and they have never disappointed me, with their performance and durability. These hedge shears are another great product in their lineup. They are surprisingly lighter than I was expecting. My wife likes them because of the weight. The length of the blades are perfect for my trimming needs and the locking fingered action is so smooth, I never had a bind in the action at anytime while using the shears. The handles are nicely oblong shaped and for my hands, I found them very comfortable and should fit most hands without any issues of grip or comfort. The overall length of the shears makes them very easy to handle for most trim jobs. The top blade comes in a black satin finish to keep down the reflection of the sun and the blades are very sharp, exercise caution when using them. The shears come with a plastic snap cover on them for hanging them up and protection of the blades when not in use. They cut any of the limbs that were growing through my fence with ease and made very clean cuts as shown in the picture.
Fiskars PowerGear2 23 Hedge Shears is a good size for medium size trees and bushes. It comes with a cover to protect it from rust as most tools sit in the shed or a garage. It's a good looking tool with nice and slip free grip. I took it to test for all my bushes and shrubs around the front and backyard which were starting to look like a jungle. As I said it was easy to handle and worked good for bushes. One thing to note is that if the branch was a little thick it took a lot of effort to cut it. Looking at the size of these shears I would have thought that they should be able to take on that size of branches but they couldn't and also took quite a lot of effort. Maybe the blades are not sharp enough but it's a downside. Also the shears don't really flow, I mean it takes an effort to just snip them even if I am not cutting anything. And after a certain time it was a lot of strain on my forearms. I would have liked for them to be sharper and more efficient. But at the end they do serve their purpose and I was able to shape my jungle looking bushes.
