Nice quality... good size for quilting projects when you don't need a large quilting ruler. I like the highlighted seam allowance. The acrylic is thick and very clear. It has It includes 30-, 45- and 60-degree line indicators. The package also said lifetime warranty!
This ruler is the perfect size for many projects. As a crafter I can think of many ways this will come in handy. Especially for quilting and paper crafts. The markings are clear and the ruler seems sturdy. I especially like the small size for working on smaller projects. I love my larger size ruler but so big it literally gets in my way at times. With this you can measure and just move to the side and keep going back in forth with little effort. I like how they laid out the markings and that there is a hole for me to hang it on my pegboard.
I am not a quilter, but I do a lot of crafting. This little "ruler" is great for for my old arthritic hands and much loved by my grandsons little hands. It is much easier to use than a regular ruler, I can never keep keep it straight, this little baby has good weight, easy to keep aligned, being able to see through it is also a huge plus. It is easy to store in my craft box and is a great addition!
The Fiskars 4 ½” square acrylic ruler is a handy, must-have tool for quilters. Its small size makes for easy storage. It's perfect for measuring off 4” quilting squares with half-inch seams. The clear color makes it easy to see the fabric below. This is perfect for helping you center images from old shirts or other material that you may want to make a quilt from. Cutting perfect angles is a cinch with the 30, 45, and 60-degree measuring indicators. Not only is this ruler great for quilting, but it's also a great multipurpose ruler for crafters. I used it to measure square pieces of cork for making Scrabble letter coasters. It's great for scrapbooking and other papercrafts, as well as napkin folding and origami. My daughter used it to cut plastic mesh canvas squares for making yarn coasters. Its uses are limited only by your imagination. This durable ruler can survive a toddler throwing it across the kitchen, without breaking. Yes, I do know this personally. I wouldn't recommend letting a toddler get ahold of it, though, as the corners are very sharp.
This acrylic square has bee life changing in cutting fabric for a basic square quilt. It was so much easier to cut blocks with a square versus using my old 18 inch acrylic ruler. This takes up very little space and minimizes cut time. The built in seam allowance removes me having to calculate the seam allowance prior to making cuts. I have yet to sew the quilt that I cut the fabric for, but 5he cut time being so drastically reduced was a huge plus! I love how easy it is to read the numbers and measurements on the ruler.
I decided to try this because I do small woodworking projects. It is great for the measurements and the angles without being big and bulky for small measurements. It has angles for 30, 45, 60 degrees which is nice. The straight edges work great for marking stock for cuts. Someone who does quilting or sewing would also find this very handy. Good product!
"FISKARS" "brand" ... "RULER" ''PERFECT" for... ''PRECISE," ''CALCULATED," ''ACCURATE," MEASUREMENTS, [textiles, fabrics, arts, &, crafts, etc, etc,]
This acrylic square ruler is great size for small crafting/sewing projects. I like the Highlighted seam allowance edges so you Can keep it accurate With Large easy to read 1/8“ markings. The size is a clear square 4.5”x4.5”. I have the larger one and it's too bulky for small jobs. I'm not capable of sitting very long and work on crafts in my bed. The ruler is accurate and dependable And fits in my small sewing bag as seen in picture.
I don't like the ruler because of the colored edges. It's hard for me to line up my fabric. I resorted back to using a 6x24 ruler, just easier to see the edge of fabric with
I own and use many brands of crafting/quilting rulers. All have their pluses and minuses. Fiskars is a worthy brand as well, except for this 4.5 in square ruler. The markings on this ruler appear disoriented, at first glance, and cause mental confusion as to what measurements you are actually looking at. Specifically, the faint orange markings on the interior of the ruler force you to REALLY pay attention to what is an actual [for instance] 1" mark instance of just knowing it. You shouldn't have to stop and concentrate on your ruler markings when working on a project. I have not had this problem with any other ruler, including other Fiskars. Poor marking design.
