Fits perfect in the den. Grippers are just right to prevent the mat from sliding. Thickness is good to prevent sinking in. I would recommend this product.
Ok, did some serious comparisons based on customer reviews found online for many different brands and qualities of chairmats. It boils down to "you get what you pay for." I suppose the floor type, ie hardwood/tile/cement/carpet has a big bearing on choice as well. You don't want to get a softer type plastic chairmat for a carpeted floor where as that may work ok for a hard flooring. Hate to say it, but your weight has to be taken into consideration. I'm 240 lbs, so a softer mat might be problematic on some floors as you may find your chair wheels sinking into softer mats. I have an industrial type carpet, weigh 240, and needed something a little bit on the rigid side. Using the Broyhill Big & Tall office chair with its 5 roller wheels (also bought at Walmart), this chairmat works great. Shipped and rolled in a box, it unrolled flat and took no time to even out on the floor. Low odor went away quickly. Have had it near a month and use it moderately. No problems thus far. No disappointments.
The Cleartex Ultimate Polycarbonate Rectangle Gripper Chairmat, size 47" x 30" is definitely a product that's well worth its cost. I checked a few other office supply stores and one of the stores didn't have any chairmats while the other had chairmats but the size I was looking for was not available. The size they did have was (48" x 36"). The extra 6" would of been too wide and the cost of this chairmat was almost triple what I paid. The chairmat came flat which I feel is very important since I have not tripped over the chairmat whatsoever.
The mat arrived rolled up. A family memeber got hit by the mat when it unrolled itself. Be careful when you take it out of box. The mat itself after 2 weeks of daily 10-hour use with 170lbs is still great. Still flat, smooth and no dimpling.
Nice large chair mat. As other reviews have stated - it is square, and does not have a lip. Works fine for my desk area. It's not heavy, but appears to be sturdy. I received it quickly.
I just received two of these chair mats for the home office my husband and I share. He weighs about 250lbs and he can use this mat with no issues. There is no dimpling from the wheels on your chair and no signs of cracking. We have owned these for about a week now and I am so glad I went with this mat. I highly recommend this product, it is excellent quality and should last us quite a while and you can't beat that along with the price.
This polycarbonate chairmat has a much harder surface than a vinyl mat. My chair rolls easily over this mat and does not sink in or leave impressions from the wheels like a more flexible vinyl mat would produce. A great choice.
The mat is a rectangle and does not have the extension that goes under the desk as the picture shows. It was purchased for my husband and he is very happy with it without the extension. It arrived in 2 days and was in a large box so it was not creased. Very pleased with the shipping and arrival time.
I didn't want a big mat but wouldn't want one any smaller, certainly not for office use if you move around much but fine for home use.
I purchased this mat because it was thick, and I needed a mat that would protect my thick carpet in my living room where my desk chair is. When it arrived, it was the perfect size, but it has yet to stay in place on my thick pile carpet. The durability is GREAT, though! It'll hold up without a problem. I just wish it would stay in place a little better. Maybe after gravity does some work on it, it'll stay in place more effectively.
