Beautiful in the garden, naturalized in the field, or planted along wooded edges, this rare species has attractive spikes of small yellow flowers spotted with brown flecks. The genus is named for its finger-like flowers. Unlike other more common species that are biennial, this is a long-lived perennial. Flowering initially in mid summer, if dead-headed they will produce additional spikes later in the season. Provide plants with compost enriched garden soil and regular watering for best performance.
