Pleasantly surprised with this mix. All organic mix of Organic Baby Spinach, Organic Baby Spinach, Red And Green Romaine, Organic Baby Greens, Red And Green Chard, Red And Green Mustard, Frisee, Arugula, Organic Radicchio, Organic Red Kale. Fresh and delicious. Lasted days longer than the recommended 3 days.
We need to eat more greens and this mix is both healthy and tasty. Popeye said spinach makes you stronger so try it!
We usually buy the organic spring mix made by Fresh Express from Food Lion, but we were at Wal-Mart and needed some leafy greens for the week. This served us well, taste was comparable, lasted our family of 3 almost the entire week. I would probably buy again.
My issue is not only with Marketside salads, but all the organic spring mix varieties, even from other stores. They always go bad and become a mushy, slimy mess days before the guaranteed fresh date. I always end up picking out salvageable leaves ones by one and then rinsing them off. The most recent one I bought, Half & Half Mix, was supposed to be "delicious if used by Nov 11-15. " Yeah, right. The first day I brought it home, I think Nov 7, there was a slimy, mushy mess in the middle. There is always too much moisture in the plastic packaging. Once I pick through what I have to throw out, I add a paper towel to the top and bottom of the container.
I think you may solve the problem all these salads present. Many days before the date, there are leaves mush, decomposed and even rotten. And that is unacceptable on this excellent material; all the leaves are very good. is so good quality of produce; I'm sure the problem is because the leaves are packed with too much moisture. They are too wet and the package (a plastic box) is not absorbent. Some parts of the salad become partially mush, soft, like a pulpy mass and the entire salad results disagreeable to eat.. Try to pack it drier and maybe including some absorbent paper or paper towel. Good luck Walmart
I check the date on the container but several times my Salad mix does not stay fresh very long. Only a few days.
Good quality lettuce but found a dead grasshopper at the bottom of my last container...
I am going to quit buying this item and all the other mixed lettuce offerings from Marketside. I have had to throw out most of them before the use by date because they are turning rotten and are not edible. Especially the ones with red lettuce as part of the mixture. It seems to turn bad long before the others and ruins the whole container. During the summer I buy the larger containers and have had to throw out a lot of salad this summer. It is cheaper for us in the long run to buy head lettuces and do our own mixing.
Lately ever time I have bought this salad, upon opening the box I've noticed the greens are wilted and soggy. I end up having to throw away most of the salad. This is even though the "best before" date on the box is days before the actual purchase date.
This purchase was not a good one. I usually buy organic, but there wasn't any. This product was going bad the next morning when opened. Some leaves were dark and slimy. I should have returned it, but I didn't.
