when I was a kid on the farm 70 years ago, it was such a treat to climb trees on our farm that had muscadines growing up high. never figured out why that it grew that way. I could climb trees as well as monkeys could and sit on a limb and eat these fantastic delights. will try to get them soon!
It's sweet uniqueness. My favorite fruit as a child.
They tasted smokey and usually that's pretty good but I don't know anyone who wants a smokey tasting grape. Also they weren't red but a very green grape.
