This works great compared to the window suction. I drive a 2006 Civic and the dashboard is kinda wierd looking but you can put this dashmount anywhere and it won't go anywhere. I was kind of skeptical when I opened the package and I did not see any adhesive but it doesn't need any. I am the Queen of fast stops and turns and the mount does not move at all. I rented from Avis in September and they introduced me to Garmin and the window mount and the window mount is horrible. It kept falling!! GET THE DAHSMOUNT EVEN IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN STATES THAT WON'T ALLOW THE WINDOW MOUNT!!
Recently, I bought a Garmin Dash Mount for StreetPilot C340 from walmart.com. It's quite sturdy as it stays put on the dashboard even when you drive on a bumpy road or negotiate a steep turn. I am glad I can now stay focused on driving without the anxiety of babysitting the unit on the original suction cup. Removing the Garmin C340 unit from the triangualar Garmin Dash Mount is a snap too. You'll never need any tape or adhesive to secure your Garmin C340. I'd definitely recommend this product to Garmin C340 users (who still use the useless suction cup). Walmart's site to store service was good (could have been better if they had shipped my Garmin Dash Mount to the store in 3-4 business days as opposed to 10 - 14 business days).
This friction mount is great, I used this on a long drive recently and the gps did not slide at all. Also, you can take the entire unit including the mount with you while leaving the car with no sign of any attachment to the dash. The gps also detaches from the mount very easily. Even if the mount does not exactly fit the contour of the dash, it still did not slide in my case. Definitely worth investing in it.

I drive a Nissan Murano so my dash goes on forever, my son however has a tiny chevy truck with a very small dash but even with a bit of the dash mount hanging over the stability was excellent on country roads with loads of turns and more then there share of bumps and holes. I would recomend it for any type of vehicle.
Well is very helpfull in your car. You don't have to worry about placing the Gps on the glass and leaving marks on it from the suction rubber.
When i first opened the box after getting it, i was very skeptical. It looked like it would fly away after a normal turn. Lo and behold i have using it for a week and it is a great investment. I can easily take it from car to car. You cannot do that with the mount that comes with Garmin products. It basically stands on the top of your dash like a table lamp. If you want to move it, just pickup and go. The intial setup takes just 30 seconds at best. Snap it in place and it's ready. If garmin wants some highly satisfied customers, they would make this the standard accesory that comes with their GPS units. I would recommend it very much to everybody.
I was having trouble with the window mount falling off all the time and this product solved that problem. I don't even use the window suction cup mount anymore.
I've used this dash mount in several cars with all kinds of different dashboards. Works well even on steep sloping dashboards. I was recently in minnesota and had to rent a car and was able to use this dash mount where windshield mounts are not allowed.
This is the best dash mount I've come across. I've been unable to get the windshield mount to stay secured. You don't have to permanently mount this dash mount and it stays in place. It can be moved from one vehicle to another, simply by just lifting it up. I also have a Magellan GPS and I hope they come out with a dash mount like Garmin. You cant go wrong with this product.
