Does not come with instructions. Called Garmin to help turn it on. Once I found out how to turn it on, go figure.... It worked great. Very user friendly. Still have not received the manual promised by customer service....
So far so good. The last one I bought stopped being able to even turn on after a few hours but this newer version seems to be much better. It has been used several times so far without incident. When I received it I had to update it and after 2 hours all was up to date and rarin to go. Love it so far and easy to see.
Garmin Drive 51 LMT worked for 3 days then died. I tried everything to revive it - finally contacted the company (Beach Camera) and have returned it. I ordered another one - so hopefully this was just a fluke!
i use my GPS primarily for live traffic updates. i was very disappointed to discover that in order to get live traffic, i would have two options. 1. Spend $60 additionally for a traffic receiver 2. connect it to my smart-phone and possibly pay a subscription fee. i wasn't interested in spending another $60. If i wanted to use my phone, i wouldn't need the GPS in the first place. As far as actual operation of the device, i have no clue -- i never got past the opening screen which said, "If you don't accept these terms, return the device within 7 days." So, i did.
