the new garmin meets all my expectations
Unit was easy to set up once I downloaded the software from Garmin. You need to connect the gps to a USB port on your computer. You can't used a usb hub for this. Enter the activation code from your receipt and the software guides you through the setup. I used the unit today for the first time. Impressions: Better than the factory unit in my car. It gives you a lot of helpful information on the large screen - the speed limit and your driving speed, tells you when the speed limit is going to change, highlights the lane for your turn, speaks instructions for your upcoming turns, shows the names of streets you are approaching, alerts you if you are over the speed limit. Tip - order online and pick up at the store. The store price is $149.99.
Accurate...easy to read ...user friendly. Own 2 more being used on other trucks. Highly recommend for personal or professional use.
Larger screen; speed limit changes; and never lost with this unit.
I am positive this was an open box and someone brought it back. It did not come with a manual to explain all of the options the unit had. I had to figure them out by trial and error. The touchscreen is extremely hard to use and frustrating. The unit does work. If you have an address that is close to a border and the unit says that it cannot be found try using the town that it is close to. The one thing I like is that it has Lane assist. It will say take a left or a right at the stop sign or take a right or a left at the traffic light. I generally do not buy electronics at Walmart but this time I did because I bought it through mypoints.com and I got 2400 points for the purchase and that is why I bought this unit at Walmart
I bought this about 10 months ago, when on vacation. I bought it and never used it much anymore. I decided to start using it for a trip, charged it and after upfating with garminexpress it won't boot anymore. Called Garmin, not willing to help, nor honour warranty
I connected the charger all weekend, it appears on the Garmin screen with the battery signal charging, appears between 2 - 4 seconds. I press the button and do nothing. What I can do?
Did not last long Died after 2 years
Broke the very first day I used it. Is not as accurate as Google Maps as it says I have arrived several hundred feet before I actually have (yes map is up to date). Does not find some addresses Google maps will find - I am up to six addresses the first week (yes map is up to date). Mispronounces street names. I have seen two streets misspelled already. With today's technology I would say Garmin is ten years behind the times! Greatly disappointed!
Charged with included cable and my computer all night. Charge indicator never changed from about 1/4 charge that it came with. When attempting to turn on would flash Garmin logo then go back to charging screen. Did say it loaded all available updates successfully. Tried soft reset as according to trouble shooting on Garmin site. I have had other Garmin GPS units with no problem. This one is a lemon I guess. Makes me nervous to try another though.....
