I use this everyday. I travel all over the Southeast of the United States and love having this in my lower left window area. I have NEVER used my phone to navigate because it takes my eyes off of the road. The large screen makes it so easy to see at a quick glance of the eyes. Love my Garmin GPS!
The minute I plugged my Garmin in I was off to the races. Having owned Garmins for many years the purchase of the Drive 61 was an upgrade to my previous models and well worth the money. The larger screen was the first thing I noticed and it got better from there.
The initial software update took a couple of hours to complete. In addition, the unit took a while to acquire satellite signal. It constantly took the wrong route near my home for some unknown reason. Other trips into the city were fine. Overall, the unit functioned as expected. #sweepstakes
The display is great the mounting base is better than the windshield, I wished I had research this GPS unit a little better. Putting in your destination is easy, you have to dig for the number of miles left on your trip overall I'm happy with this purchase and the price. #sweepsrake'
I just came back to Peru after a 10 days trip to different places in Florida. The Garmin Drive 60 LMT USA GPS that I bought for that purpose was great. It help me quite a bit during the almost 1000 miles I drove. It gave me precise directions all the time; I did not waste any time taking wrong exits or turning where I should not. The 6" display is perfect; when there were two o three exits one after the other, I could easily see which one was the one I had to take.
I decided to upgrade my Garmin GPS after many years. I like the new features such as dual windows showing what exit ramp to take. I also like that it no longer has that annoying phrase Recalculating. A nice feature is the red light camera warning. It makes you think twice whether to proceed when the light turns yellow.
The manufacture made good with a replacement. But there are quirks. Sometimes routes supplied are plain stupid. More than once the voice literately says TURN RIGHT when the visual clearly showed LEFT. The visual is more accurate.
It is fairly easy to operate, but like most GPS it sends you on the most direct route. I live out in the boonies and it keeps trying to send me on small back roads that are under water part of the year. They should be programed to send you on the best route not the most direct.
I ended up getting 2 of these from Beach Camera. The first one had problems with flickering all the time. It was impossible to use. After talking with customer service, it was decided to send it back for another new one. That one worked fine for 3 weeks, then just quit. Could not turn it on. Sent it back and got my money back.
PURCHASED GPS LASTED A WEEK BEFORE BLACK SCREEN. AUDIO OK, SCREEN BLACKED OUT. SENT BACK RECEIVED ANOTHER 61. KEPT GETTING ERROR WRONG WAY ON STREET WAS A 2 WAY. CALLED GARMIN SUPPORT + THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS. THE ERROR IS BACK. OCCASIONALLY,SENDS ME WRONG WAY TO DESTINATION. SOFTWARE ISSUES. TRIED UNINSTALLING MAP + REINSTALLING. PROBLEM PERSISTS .
