i replaced the horrid Volvo satnav in a 2009 Aston Martin Vantage. it fits in the factory enclosure perfectly. Touchscreen, bluetooth, wireless backup camera, WiFi for updates, voice control, can even play music and provide handsfree phone service. Have had lots of Garmin products for marine and car for 30 years now, never been disapointed
Bought for a trip to Canada from USA. If the garment is in sun for awhile the screen after you press where to on Home Screen shows buttons with go home,address, saved, recent,categories, etc.. Usually you lightly touch the choice and it registers. But when warm I have to hit hard , cover with finger, try several times and sometimes I toes not matter how I try the go home choice or address choice or other choices do not register.
It's not perfect but sure is a lot better than older models. The larger screen has more information. Very glad I made the purchase.
My old Navigator died after 2 years and I purchased this Garmin. Shaping your own Route is extremely difficult (and I don't say it lightly). Missing is the "Shortest Route" option ( "Fastest Route" option only which can involve over $100 if route involves a 300 mile turnpike). Needs a specific tutorial for best technique in shaping of route. Needs clarification in tutorial for formatting SD Card and how to transfer data back and forth. Pros: free Map Updates, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, Local Fuel Prices, Weather Map, and Traffic Alerts. It also works indoors for satellite signals (I have a brick building and USB cable works in a USB Powered Outlet - cable is a Type A blue connector). Requires some expert knowledge to use some features. All in all it is a good Navigator with voice commands "Go Garmin"
Not sure what happened to the car adapter, it had a lot of melted plastic on it. I do not know if it's supposed to come with instructions, but I'm sure there was some kind of go here to register your Garmin and sign up for an account. That would've been helpful.
Larger screen is nice! But functionally 66 is a step down from my Drive Smart 50 & 55. Voice commands highly limited. For instance Can Not: show weather, or traffic, or Find gas stations, fast food - near destination or along route using voice commands. Have to use touch screen, making this GPS more dangerous to use. Could control more GPS functions with my older Garmin GPS's that used menu driven voice commands. Thinking I will return 66 and keep using older GPS, until 66 software is brought up to date. Also do not need bloatware like Alexa and music. Phone and music handled by my car.
This model is NOT the DriveSmart 66 -- the website is completely misleading. It is actually a 66se, which lacks several of the features of the model 66. We thought we were just getting a lower price ($200 rather than $250) but it is a "special edition" made specifically for Walmart, with reduced functions despite being listed as part of the system on the website. We discovered that during conversations with Garmin and returned the unit.
2 weeks after I ordered this, WalMart cancelled the order without explanation.
I purchase this Garmin navigation system on July 22nd. It was suppose to arrive in 2 or 3 days. I was unable to track my order and reached out to this 3rd party and never got a reply. My order came on August 5th and it was not a new Garmin navigation system but was refurbished. I would never order anything from this Quality Wholesale and do not recommend them.
