I had an apple watch ultra and used it to track my fitness and lap times (I race motocross and use the lit pro app for lap tracking). After reading a recent review from lit pro on smart/fitness watches, they ranked the garmin as the top watch for accuracy. I bought a garmin epix pro 2 51mm to test against my AWU. The garmin is amazing. More accurate and I feel that it gives you more accurate health info too. Battery life is incredible too! I gave my wife the AWU and kept the garmin. If you take fitness and accuracy seriously get a garmin!
I upgraded from a Vivoactive 4s to the Epix Pro. I didn't know all of the data I wasn't getting before the upgrade. I have started to run at night, the flashlight had come in handy. The battery life of great! The data I'm receiving has really helped me to better plan my workouts and track my progress. I'm still exploring the watch functions and learning new things.
Had Fenix 6X Pro since 2001, decided to upgrade to Epix Pro (Gen 2) Sapphire 51MM. Wow, what an upgrade! First and foremost, the AMOLED face is beautiful, there are added functions for avid runners ( I log 1800-2400 miles a year), the built in flashlight is surprisingly high powered, and the battery life is incredible. In addition, seems like treadmill calibration is much better on this Epix 2 v Fenix 6x Pro, and the hill climb feature is really cool trail running or hill running. Touchscreen is a much added plus, was skeptical about touch screen since I sweat a lot, but so far touch screen has not been impacted by drops of sweat. Watch is a bit pricey ($200 off right now for Fathers Day special!) but well worth it if you are a true fitness enthusiast.
I got this watch several weeks ago. Epic pro gen 2 sapphire with titanium/white. Had the Vivoactive 4 for 4.5 years before this. Numerous fitbits before that. This blows them all away. The battery life is amazing. The plethora of stats and tracking is almost overwhelming! I use the flashlight more than I thought I would. Love the customization and watch faces and the screen looks great, no issues under any conditions. Highly recommend to anyone.
This watch is amazing. I debated for a while ordering it as it is definitely expensive but it's worth the price depending on your needs. I upgraded from an Apple Watch and the difference is night and day. I use this for training and I record everything and it shows me every little detail, even details I didn't even realize I wanted (Torch!) and more. The battery life is also amazing. The battery life is phenomenal as well. I use this with Music and GPS every day and the battery lasts me 10 days easily. The Apple Watch wouldn't even last a day. TLDR; if you're on the fence and a current Apple Watch owner it depends on your needs. If you want a smartwatch to use apps and have other functionality this probably isn't for you. But if you want a rock solid watch that is virtually indestructible and gives you all the data you need and more for training purposes you won't find a better companion than the Garmin Epix Pro.
I was looking for a more traditional yet high end looking watch that had all the features of the smart watch I had worn for years. I absolutely love this watch. The features are fantastic, it integrates all my health stats and has perks that the other watch kind of lacked. Very happy with the purchase and will use Garmin for a long time.
This is my first Garmin and it has exceeded my expectations. All the features and data I get for tracking my workouts are so interesting and useful. The titanium bezel and sapphire glass make this thing indestructible, so it gives you peace of mind for wearing it anytime anywhere. Definitely recommend it and look forward for the next generation of Garmin Epix
This watch is exactly what I wanted. I upgraded from a 945 to the Epix pro Gen 2 47mm and don't regret it. I can easily go 12 days without charging my watch and I use the GPS almost every day for running (full charge shows 16 days). You will save a ton of battery life by not having the display always on. Really enjoy the new metrics and am a fan of the UI not being super fancy like the 965. It's rugged and the titanium w/whitestone along with my my dark sandstone band looks great!
I bought this piece of watch last month. And it is the best gear I have been bought. Everything is useful, and it's premium materials are the best and hard. The only thing I would like to have it is the option to control my phone music when it is connected to.
I have used a Fenix 6 Pro Solar every day for 2 years. I upgraded to this Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire because the solar function on the Fenix 6 stopped working and also wanted to try the new AMOLED and touch screen on the Epix. I like everything about the watch except the sharp edges around the edges of the face. See photo. The metal lugs (1. in the picture) of the watch are sharp enough to possibly cut skin, knife edge sharp. Must have been missed during manufacturing? There are 4 lugs on this watch and 2 are very, very sharp and 2 are not so sharp. I like the watch and decided to keep it but will have to try to file down those sharp edges. The minor area (2. in the picture) of sharpness is not going to cut anybody but is annoying and my fingers catch on it all the time when using the watch and just feels uncomfortable.
